Stop by and visit the Animal Care and Adoption Center to meet all the wonderful
animals in need of a home. For information please visit www.rcpets.info.
Adopt a Cat Month
June is designated Adopt a Shelter
Cat Month by the ASPCA, who
want to encourage everyone to
make pet adoption their f irst choice
when deciding to get a pet. Their
goal is to educate people about
improving their quality of life
through the companionship of a cat.
Our Animal Center has a variety of adorable, cuddly felines just
waiting to f ind their new forever homes. Come visit today!
Log onto our website at www.rcpets.info, check us out on
Facebook page www.facebook.com/rcanimalcenter, or call us
at (909) 466-7387. We are open 7 days a week!
Dare to Prepare
We strongly encourage pet owners
to make an emergency kit for their
animal and place it alongside
their family ’s disaster “go kit ”.
This would include:
• Food, water and medicines for 5 days
• Medical and veterinary records
• Carrier, toys, blanket or bed, and sturdy leashes
• Litter box, litter, scoop, garbage bags
• ID attached to your pet
• Current photos of pet with physical description
• Written information about your pets’ feeding schedules,
medical conditions and behavior issues along with the name
and number of your veterinarianAnImAl CEnTERnow accepting American Express as well as VIsA & mastercard.
That ’s Not Cool!
Is it too hot to take my dog along today?
We need to ask ourselves this question
every time we drive with our pet. Warm
weather can literally be a killer for a dog left
inside a car. When it is 85 degrees outside,
the temperature inside a car – even with the
windows cracked – can soar to 102 degrees
in 10 minutes and 120 degrees in just half an
hour. Outside temperatures in the 70’s can be dangerous too.
Leaving your dog for “just a minute” may be too long!
The summer heat is at record highs, and in some places it is higher than
100 degrees. unlike other animals, rabbits cannot pant or sweat to cool
themselves off in hot weather. Imagine being in hot weather with a fur
coat on and not being able to cool yourself down. The best way to keep
a rabbit cool is in your home with the air conditioning on. Even if you
can’t keep your rabbit indoors all the time, consider setting up an indoor
enclosure or putting your rabbit in your bathroom with a litter box,
water and food and bring your rabbit in for the hotter part of the day.
