Book and Lyrics by Susan DiLallo
Music and Lyrics by Danny Abosch
Direction/Choreography by Sam Viverito
Based on the book series by Jane O’Conner
Illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser
The story follows Nancy and her friends Bree, Rhonda,
Wanda and Lionel, who are going to be performing in
their very first show. Nancy is positive (that ’s fancy for
100% sure), that she and Bree will be picked to be mermaids.
When another girl wins the coveted role of the mermaid,
Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can Nancy bring
flair to her role, even though it isn’t the one she wanted? (for ages 2+)

Make sure your pet is spayed or
neutered
World spay day February 24th
Spaying and neutering is good for your
pet, you, and the community.
• Dogs and cats will live a longer, happier life
• Your pet will be healthier
• Your dog or cat will be a better, more affectionate companion
• Your pet will be better behaved and friendlier
• Your pet will be less likely to fight, bite, or run away
• Your neutered cat is less likely to spray and mark territory
• Your spayed dog or cat will not have a heat cycle, eliminating the
attraction of unwanted males.
Keep in mind that spaying and neutering eliminates many
housebreaking problems; reduces dominance behaviors which can
be a source of aggression; and reduces or eliminates cancers and
other health problems.
The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center
understands that the cost of surgery for your pets spay or neuter
may become a barrier to getting this important surgery performed.
In an effort to help curb some of those costs, the Animal Center
offers residents of Rancho Cucamonga spay/neuter vouchers. Call
us at (909) 466-7387 – we are here to help!

Be a Life Saver -
Become a Foster
Parent
If you have room in your home and
love in your heart, please consider
becoming a foster care volunteer. As a foster you may become an
animal’s best advocate in helping them to find that perfect
‘forever’ home, setting the stage for a successful adoption. You
will learn their personalities and behaviors in a home setting
whereby you can help us in making the best connection suited for
them. By becoming part of our Foster Care Program you will be
helping animals that are too young to be adopted out or may be
recovering from injuries, medical treatment or those in need of
socialization. You will be responsible round the clock for the
animal’s safety, comfort and general well-being, a responsibility
that can be exhausting, especially when caring for young puppies
and kittens. It is a commitment full of rewards! For additional
information, please call to speak with a Foster Coordinator or
visit our website RCPets.info
An Animal Control officer’s day
No two days are ever the same. Some days could be assisting the
public with nuisance complaints and other days can be all
emergency situations and rescuing animals from detrimental
conditions. But each day brings its own challenges and rewards.
Our officers prepare themselves dail y to respond to emergency
situations such as rescuing dogs who have managed to get their
heads somehow stuck in the fence, responding out to a hoarding
situation to rescue kittens kept in small dirty cages, and then off
to educate a neighbor about the importance of keeping their
small dogs on leashes while out for a walk. Our officers respond
for all emergency calls for service, they are responsible for rabies
control, enforcing laws both state and local to help prevent
neglect and abuse of animals as well as to protect the public from
potentially dangerous situations. Education is also a big portion of
the job because when we build a community of responsible pet
caretakers we are helping our community animals as well as our
residents to live together.
