ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI~E CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORlqlA, AMENDING S ECTIO(q S 2.20.0 50. B,
2.24.040.B, 2.28.040, AND 2.52.020.C OF TITLE T~O OF THE
RANCBO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE, ALL RELATED TO THE DATE OF
APPOINTMENT AND TERMS OF OFFICE OF CITY COMMISSIONERS
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonsa, California, does
ordain as follows:
SECTION i:
Section 2.20.050.B of the Rancho Cucamonsn Municipal Code hereby is
amended to read, in words and figures, as follows:
"2.20.050.B. The term of office of each present me~ber of the
Planning Commission hereby is extended from June i to December 31 of the year
in which each such term is scheduled to expire. Hereafter, Planning Commission
members shall be appointed to ter~s commencing on the first day of January nex~
succeeding each regular municipal election scheduled to occur in November of
even-numbered years,"
SECTION 2:
Section 2.24.040.B of the Rancho Cuca~onga Municipal Code hereby is
amended to rend, in words and figures, aa follows:
"2.24.040.B The term of office of each present member of the
Historic Commission hereby is reduced from July I of the year in which each
such term is scheduled to expire to December 31 of the immediately preceding
calendar year. Hereafter, 8istoric Commission mashers shall be appointed to
term commencing on the first day of January next succeeding each regular
~'nicipal election scheduled to occur in lqoveeber of even-numbered years."
SECTIDtt 3:
$~ctiou 2.28.040 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code hereby is
amended to read, in words and f£gures, as follows:
#2.2&.040. Membership -- Term of AD~ointm~n~
A. All terms shall be for three (3) years, which provides tbaC
one-third of the Advisory Commission shall be considered for appointment each
year. I~plementation of the staggered three-year terms shall be tbroush a
'"olind-draw" of each subcommittee to provide that the terms for one-third of
the total Commission shall terminate annually on December 31.
B. Tbs term of office of each present member of the Advisory
Commission hereby is extended from June 30 to December 31 of the year in which
each such present term is scheduled to expire. Hereafter, Advisory Comnission
members shall be appointed to terms commencing on the first day of January next
succeeding each regular municipal election scheduled to occur in November of
evetl-numbered years."
SECTION 4:
Section 2.52.020.C of ~he Rancho Cucnmouga Municipal Code hereby is
amended to read, in words and fisures, es follows:
"Section 2.52.020.C. Coaua~ssiou me,bars shall serve for terms of
four (4) years, except that ~o (2) of tbs members firs~ appointed shall be
designated ~o serve for a term of ~wo (2) years, and ~bra~ (3) a ~erm of four
(4) years, so aa to provide a continuity of membership on the Commission.
Thereafter, the term for each voting member shall be four (4) years. An

appointment to fill an unexpired term shall be for the remainder of such
unexpired term. The term of office of each member of the Commission shall
expire on December 31 of even-numbered years and members shall be appointed to
term. commencing ou the first day of January next succeeding each regular
umnicipal election scheduled to occur in November of even-numbered years."
SECTION ~:
The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause
the same to be published vithln fifteen (15) days after its passage at least
once in ~i2_~t~,Y...~, a nevspaper of general circulation published in the
City of Outario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California.
