HomeMy WebLinkAbout260 - Ordinances NEVE~ CONSIDERED ORDINANCE NO. 260 A~ ORDINANCE OF T~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2.16 OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE AND T~EREBY ADJUSTING COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL It hereby is ordained by the Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga as follows: SECTION 1: Chapter 2.16 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code hereby is amended to read as follows: "Chapter 2.16 "SALARIES "Sections: 2.16.010 Statutory authority. 2.16.020 Population estimate. 2.16.030 Salary amount. 2.16.0f4) Additional recompensation. "2.16.010 Statutory authority. The ordinance codified in this chapter is enacted pursuant to the provisions of Section 36516 of the Government Code of the state, authorizing the council to provide by ordinance that each member of the council shall receive a prescribed salary, the amount of which shall be based upon the population of the city as determined by estimates made by the State Department of Finance. "2.16.020 Population estimat,. The latest estimate of population of the city made by the State Department of Finance is between 50,000 and 75,000. "2.16.030 Salary amount. Each member of the council shall receive as salary the s~m of five hundred dollars per month, as prescribed in Section 36516 of the Government Code of the state for cities in the 50,000 to 75,000 population group. The salary shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the city. "2.16.040 Additional recompensation. The salaries prescribed in this chapter shall he exclusive of any amounts payable to each member of the council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by a member of the council in the performance of official duties for the city." SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall become effective on the date upon which one or more members of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council commences a new term of office following the next succeeding general municipal election held in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. SECTION 3: The Mayor shall sigm this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
