ORDINANCE O! THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAHONCA, CALIFORNIA, ADDING A NK~ CHAPTER 9.16 TO TITLE 9
OF THE RAHCHO CUCAHONGA HUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINIHC TO THE
CONSUIL~TION OF ALCOHOLIC BKVER~ES ~!~ PUBLIC PLACES
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucauon~a does ordain as
follows:
SECTION I: A new Chapter 9.16 hereby is added to the R~ncho Cucamon~a
Municipal Code to read, in words and fisures, as follows:

'~:onsumotlon of Alcohol in ~ublic Places
"Sections:
"9.16.010 Definitions.
"9.16.020 Consu,~ption of Alcoholic Beverases in Public
Places Prohibited.
"9.16.030 Penalties for Violation of Chapter.
"9.16.010 Definit~gua. As used in this Chapter, the term
'alcoholic beverage' and 'alcoholic beverqes' shall have the mean/nS set forth
in Section 23004 of the California Business and Professions Code as the same
presently exists, or as the same may be 8mended from time to time.
"9.16.020 Consumption of AlC_~h__~I~c Beveraaes in Pub~$c Places
Prohibited. It shell be unlawful for any person to consume any alcoholic
beverage while upon any public street, alley, way, sidewalk or parkway, whether
in a motor vehicle or otherwise, within the City of Rancho Cuc~mon~a.
"9.16.030 Penalties for Violatloz~ of Chapter. It shall be
unlawful [or any person to violate any provision of this Chapter. Any person
violatinS any provision of this Chapter shall be deemed Suilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a Pine not exceedin$ One
Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisou~aent not exceedin$ six (6) uon~hs,
or by bo~h such fine and imprisonuent."
SECTION 2: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk
shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passase
at least once in The Daily RepOrt, a newspaper of seneral circulation published
in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City aP Rancho
Cucanonga, California.
