HomeMy WebLinkAbout224 - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 224 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 1.12.020 AND 1.12.030 OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO PENALTIES The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Section 1.12.020 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "1.12.020 Penalty for misdemeanor. Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the city, any person convicted of a misdemeanor for violation of this code or an ordinance of the city, or any code adopted by reference by ordinance of the city, is punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment." SECTION 2: Section 1.12.030 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "1.12.030 Penalty for infraction. Any person convicted of an infraction for violation of an ordinance of the city, or any code adopted by reference by ordinance of the city, is punishable by: "A. A fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for a first violation; "B. A fine not exceeding two hundred dollars for a second violation of the same ordinance or code within one year; and, "C. A fine not exceeding five hundred dollars for each additional violation of the same ordinance or code within one year." SECTION 3: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least one in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
