HomeMy WebLinkAbout222 - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 222 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 6 OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING CHAPTER 6.08 THERETO TO REGULATE THE SLAUGHTERING OF ANIMALS. The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Title 6 of the Rancho Cueamonga Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Chapter 6.08 thereto to read as follows: Chapter 6.08 SLAUGHTERING OF ANIMALS Sections: 6.08.010 Slaughter-Defined. 6.08.020 Slaughtering of Dogs and Cats Prohibited. 6.08.030 Slaughter of Certain Other Domestic Animals. 6.08.010 Slaughter-Defined. "Slaughter" means kill and prepare for h~man consumption. 6.08.020 Slaughtering of Dogs and Cats Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to slaughter any dog or cat. 6.08.030 Slaughtering of Certain Other Domestic Animals. It shall be unlawful for any person to slaughter any cattle, sheep, swine, goat, horse or mule unless such person holds, or is employed by a person who holds, a valid license issued by the State of California or the United States, authorizing the slaughtering of animals and such slaughtering is done in a manner and at a place permitted by such license. SECTION 2: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
