HomeMy WebLinkAbout148-A - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 148-A AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 148 BY REPEALING SECTION 2 THEREOF PERTAINING TO TERMINATION OF CHAPTER 8.10 OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED "MOBILE HOME PARK RENT MEDIATION", AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 148 which was approved and adopted on August 5, 1981 is hereby amended by repealing Section 2 thereof. Section 2, which is repealed by this Ordinance, reads as follows: "Termination: Unless extended by action of the City Council, this Ordinance shall terminate and have no force and effect three (3) years after adoption." SECTION 2: Unless this Ordinance is adopted as an urgency measure, Ordinance No. 148 will expire by its own terms on August 5, 1984, thereby removing from law a procedure designed to resolve rent increase disputes between the tenants and owners of mobile home parks before an alternate procedure can be considered by the City Council. The City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the public health, safety and welfare to extend the provisions of Ordinance No. 148 indefinitely while alternatives thereto are being considered by the City Council. SECTION 3: This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency measure, and it shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. SECTION 4: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
