AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, RECOGNIZING THE GARRETT AND
COMPANY WINERY AS A SIGNIFICANT HISTORIC FEATURE OF THE
CITY AND THEREFORE DESIGNATING IT AS A CITY HISTORIC
LANDMARK.
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California,
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: The City Council finds and determines that the
following features of the Garrett and Company Winery (Virginia Dare t.m.)
have met the criteria established by Ordinance No. 70 for Historic
Preservation within the City, and therefore, and with the recommendation
of the Historic Preservation Commission designates these features of
the Garrettand Company Winery (Virginia Dare t.m.) a Historic Landmark
of the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
1. The main winery building of approximately 31,500
sq. ft. fronting on Foothill Blvd. and Haven Avenue.
2. The two auxiliary buildings of approximately 3,780
and 3,312 sq. ft. located directly behind and to the
north of the main building.
3. The crusher area of approximately 480 sq. ft. located
in an area north of the main building.
SECTION 2: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City
Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days
after its passage at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and
circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 18th day of June, 1980.
