HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-B - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 87-B AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAHONGA, CALIFORNIA, A~ENDING SECTIONS 2.28.040 AND 2.28.0?0 OF THE RANCHO CUCAHONGA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO TEl%MS OF APPOINTMENT OF ADVISOR~ COI~4ISSION H]~BERS AND OFFICERS. The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamon~a does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Section 2.28.040 of the Rancho Cucamon~a Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 2.28.040. Membership--Terms of Appointment. All terms shall be for three (3) years, which provides that one-third (1/3) of the Advisory Commission shall be considered for appointment each year. Implementation of the staggered three (3) year terms shall be through a "blind-draw" of each sub-committee to provide that the terms for one-third (1/3) of total commission shall terminate annually on June 30." SECTION 2: Section 2.28.070 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 2.28.070. Officers. A. The Advisory Commission shall select a chairperson to preside at all meetings of the commission. The term of the chairperson shall be one (1) year, commencing on September 1 of each year. The chairperson may be removed by majority vote of the entire Advisory Comm~sion, taken at any regular meeti~ thereof. In the event a chair- person is removed prior to the expiration of his or her term, the Advisory Commission shall forthwith appoint a successor to serve the balance of the unexpired term." SECTION 3: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamon~a, California.
