HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-F - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 70 (F) AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMON~,A, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.24.210 OF, AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 2.24.220 TO CHAPTER 2.24 OF THE RANCHO CU CAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE, THEREBY INCREASING CRIMINAL PENALTIES, AND ADDING CIVIL REMEDIES The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2.24.210 of Chapter 2.24 of Title 2 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code hereby is amended to read, in words and figures, as follows: "2.24.210 Penalty for Violation of Chapter. "It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partner- ship, or corporation to violate any provision or to fail to comply with any of the requirements of this Chapter. Any person, firm partnership, or corporation violating any provision of this Chapter or failing to comply with any of its requirements shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding One Thousand Dollars, or by imprisonment not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprison- ment. Each such person, firm, partnership, or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or any portion thereof during which any viola- tion of any of the provisions of this Chapter is commit- ted, continued or permitted by such person, firm, partner- ship, or corporation, and shall be deemed punishable therefor as provided in this Chapter." SECTION 2. A new Section 2.24.220 is hereby added to Chapter 2.24 of Title 2 of the Rancho Cucamonga MuniciPal Code to read, in words and figures, as follows: "2.24.220 Civil Remedies Available. "A violation of any of the provisions of this Chapter shall constitute a nuisance and may be abated by the City through civil process by means of restraining order, pre- liminary or permanent injunction, or in any other manner provided by law for the abatement of such nuisance."
