AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIZY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, (AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 70, ) CREATING AN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION TO
ACT IN ADVISORY CAPACITY TO THE CITY COUNCIL IN THE
IDENTIFICATION AND PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL OBJECTS,
EVENTS, STRUCTURES AND SITES AND TO IDENTIFY PERSONS OF
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE TO THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA.
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California,
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 4 of Ordinance No. 70 of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, California, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 4: Membership. The Historic Preservation
Commission shall consist of seven (7) voting members who shall be
residents of the City of Rancho Cucamonga and appointed by the City
Council, subject to the following conditions:
(a) The te~ of office for each member shall be four
(4) years, except that three (3) of the members first appointed shall
be designated to serve for a te~ of two (2) years, and four (4) members
for a term of four (4) years, so as to provide a continuity of membership
on the Commission. Thereafter, the term for each voting member shall
be four (4) years. An appointment to fill an unexpired te~ shall
be for the remainder of such unexpired te~.
(b) A Commission member may be removed upon the majority
vote of the entire City Council.
SECTION 2: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the
City Clerk shall attest to the same, and tbe City Clerk shall cause the
same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage, at
least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City
of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 16th day of May, 1979.
