HomeMy WebLinkAbout455 - Ordinances ORDINANCENO. 455 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANC)KD ~, CALIFORNIA, AM~qD~ CFQ~PTER 10.68 OF THE RANC~O CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING A NEW S~DCTION 10.68. 055 PROHIBITING THE PIAC~ME]qT OF "SKAT~3OARD RAMPS", "HALF PIPES" AND S~FTAR PHYSICAL STRUCIURES FOR USE IN S~AT~K~RDING AND SKATING, ON POSTED PUBI~C PROPER~Y, AND DECIARING THE U~G~CY THEREOF The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1: A new Section 10.68.055 is hereby added to Chapter 10.68 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code to read, in words and figures, as fol lows: "10.68.055 It is unlawful for any person to place any "skateW ramp", "half pipe" and/or similar physical structure upon which skateboarding and/or skating is conducted, or which is used in conjunction with skateboarding and/or skating, upon any public property where notice of such prohibition has been posted." SECTION 2: Based upon the fact that the activities specified in Section 1 above are now occurring and creating risks and liability exposure to the City of Rancho Cucamonga, the City Council hereby finds and declares that in order to preserve and pronots the public health, safety and welfare, it is necessary to adopt this Ordinance as an urgency measure which shall take effect immediately upon adoption. SECTION 3: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least once in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
