World Spay Day It's the Right Choice: For You, Your Pet and Rancho Cucamonga World Spay Day is an annual campaign of The HSUS, Humane Society International and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. World Spay Day shines a spotlight on the power of affordable, accessible spay/neuter services to save the lives of companion animals, community (feral and stray) cats, and dogs. Take action on February 28, 2017 and promote the many benefits of spaying and neutering pets! Spaying and neutering is good for your pet, good for you, and good for the community. • Dogs and cats will be healthier and live a longer, happier life. • Your dog or cat will be a better, more affectionate companion. • Your pet will be better behaved, friendlier and less likely to fight, bite, or run away. • Your neutered cat is less likely to spray and mark territory. Please do your part to help solve pet overpopulation and help your pet be a healthier and more enjoyable companion. HOLIDAY CLOSURES: The RC Animal Care and Adoption Center will be closed November 24th and 25th, December 24th, 25th and 31st, and January 1st. Putt for Paws Charity Golf Tournament Monday, March 27th call (909) 466-7387 for details. MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Holiday Health Tips Be Careful With Seasonal Plants and Decorations • Christmas Tree: Securely anchor your Christmas tree so it doesn't tip and fall, causing possible injury to your pet. • Avoid Mistletoe & Holly: Holly, when ingested, can cause pets to suffer nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Mistletoe can cause gastrointestinal upset and cardiovascular problems. • Holiday Glow: Don't leave lit candles unattended. Pets may burn themselves or cause a fire if they knock candles over. • Tinsel-less Town: Kitties love this sparkly, light-catching "toy" that's easy to bat around and carry in their mouths. But a nibble can lead to a swallow, which can lead to an obstructed digestive tract, severe vomiting, dehydration and possible surgery. • Wired Up: Keep wires, batteries and glass or plastic ornaments out of paws reach. 9 WINTER 2017 GRAPEVINE LIBRARY - ARCHIBALDRCPL.lib.ca.us FREE public computers (requires RC Public Library Card).
