All dogs in the City of Rancho Cucamonga are required to wear a currentlicense which can be purchased at the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center. Personalidentification tags with the owner's name, address and telephone number are important back-ups. Implanting a microchip - a tiny electronic capsule - into thepet enables anyone with a scanner to identify you as the owner when the database is called. If your pet is everstolen, a mircrochip is permanent proof of ownership and protection against this rare butfrightening threat. Microchipping only works if you keep the information stored at the database current. The process is painless and costs only $15.In addition to these various ID methods on your pets, keep clear, current photos of themhandy, along with a written description of their appearance. This will aid you and others ifyou have to search for your lost friend.Even the most responsible owners experience unexpected circumstances which cause pets to accidentally stray, become lost or injured. If your pet is lost, visit The Animal Care and Adoption Center immediately and return atleast every other day. Please, for your pets' sake, show you care by properly identifying them!
