Receive City of Fontana staff and consultant's presentation; and, 2 Provide comments and input relevant to the proposal. BACKGROUND The City of Fontana is preparing a grant application to help fund an extension of the San Sevaine Trail, Currently the trail is a 2-mile walking and cycling pathway used primarily by the Fontana community The City of Fontana is proposing to extend the existing trail 11.5 miles to the north and south of the City of Fontana's boundaries A portion of the trail would be located within the City of Rancho Cucamonga from the 1-15 Freeway north to Wilson Avenue as shown on the attached San Sevaine Trail Connection Map (Exhibit A). This segment is identified as a Community Trail in the Rancho Cucamonga General Plan (Exhibit B) and a Class 1 shared use path in the recently completed Circulation Master Plan (Exhibit C). A shared use path typically provides a completely separate right-of-way for the exclusive use of bicycles and pedestrians with minimal crossings. The City of Fontana is inquiring whether the City of Rancho Cucamonga would support moving forward with the grant. City of Fontana staff and their consultant will provide a detailed presentation at the Trails Advisory Committee meeting. Respectfully submitted, Candyce Burnett Planning Director CB-MNIjp Attachments.
