iNOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED hy the City Council of the City of
Rancho ~ucamo~ga, pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1~72, b$ing Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, as I follows:

iSECTI N 1. Description of Work: That the public interest and
convenie~6e r,.~uire and it is the intention of this City Council to form a
maintenance di~trict in the City of Rancho Oucamonga for the maintenance and
operatio~ of t]Lose street lights the boundaries of the proposed maintenance
district desc~ibed in Section 2 hereof. Said maintenance and operation
includes the cc,st and supervision of any lighting and related facilities in
connection wit] said district.
ISECTI( N 2. Location of Work: The foregoing described work is to be
located Withil~ road~ay right-of-way enumerated in the report of the City
Engineer ~nd mc,re particularly described on maps which are on file in the
office o~ th~: City Clerk, entitled "Annexation No. 40 to Street Lighting
MaintenanCe Di~:trict No. 1".
~ECTI(,N 3. Description of Assessment District: That the contemplated
work, i~ the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public beDefit, and the said City Council hereby makes the expense of the said
work charEeabl~ upon a district, which said district is assessed to pay the
costs and~xpezses thereof, and which district is described as follows:

~nclu(.ed within the exterior boundary lines shown upon
that certain "Map of Annexation No. 40 to Street Lighting
Maint~uance District No. 1" maps is on file in the office
Of th~ City Clerk of said City.
~ECTI£N 4. Report of Engineer: The City Council of said City by
Resolutio$ No. 88-143 has approved the report of the engineer of work which
report in~icat~s the amount of the proposed assessment, the district boundary,
assessmen~ zones, titled "Engineer' s Report, Street Lighting Maintenance
District iNc. 1" is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.

Reference to said report is hereby made for all particulars for the amount and
extent of the assessments and for the extent of the work.
SECTION 5. Collection of Assessments: The assessment shall be
collected at the same time and in the same manner as County taxes are
collected. The City Engineer shall file a report annually with the City
Council of said City and said Council will annually conduct a hearing upon said
report at their first regular meeting in June, at which time assessments for
the next fiscal year will be determined.
SECTION 6. Time and Place of Hearing: Notice is hereby given that on
April 20, 1988, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the City Council Chambers at 9161
Base Line, in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, any and all persons having any
objections to the work or extent of the assessment district, may appear and
show cause why said work should not be done or carried out or why said district
should not be formed in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests
must be in writing and must contain a description of the property in which each
signer thereof is interested, sufficient to identify the same, and must be
delivered to the City Clerk of said City prior to the time set for the hearing,
and no other protests or objections will be considered. If the signer of any
protest is not shown upon the last equalized assessment roll of San Bernardino
County as the owner of the property described in the protests, then such
protest must contain or be accompanied by written evidence that such signer is
the owner of the property so described.
SECTION 7. Landscapin~ and Lighting Act of 1972: All the work herein
proposed shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the
legislature of the State of California designated the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
SECTION 8. Publication of Resolution of Intention: Published notice
shall be made pursuant to Section 61961 of the Government Code. The Mayor
shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the
City Clerk shall cause the same to be published 10 days before the date set for
the hearing, at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general
circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the
City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
