A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS WITHIN
PARK AND RECREATION IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (PD-85),
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2001/2002 PURSUANT TO THE
LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972; AND
OFFERING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS
THERETO
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, pursuant to the
provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, being Part 2 of Division 15 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does resolve as follows:
Description of Work
SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience require and it is the intention of
this City Council to levy and collect assessments within Park and Recreation Improvement
District (PD-85) for the fiscal year 2001/2002 for the maintenance and operation and debt
service payment of Red Hill Community Park and Heritage Community Park thereon dedicated
for common park purposes by deed or recorded subdivision tract map within the boundaries of
said Districts. Said maintenance and operation includes the cost and supervision of landscape
maintenance (including repair, removal or replacement of all or any part of any improvement) in
connection with said district.
Location of Work
SECTION 2: The foregoing described work is to be located within the Red Hill
Community Park and Heritage Community Park enumerated in the report of the City Engineer
and described on maps which are on file in the City Clerk's office, entitled "Assessment Diagram
Park and Recreation Improvement District (PD-85)."
Description of Assessment Districts
SECTION 3: That the contemplated work, in the opinion of said City Council, is of more
than local or ordinary public benefit, and the said City Council hereby makes the expense of the
work chargeable upon the districts, which said districts, are assessed to pay the costs and
expenses thereof, and which districts are described as follows:
All that certain territory of the City of Rancho Cucamonga included within the exterior
boundary lines shown upon that certain "Map of Park and Recreation Improvement District (PD-
85), indicating by said boundary lines the extent of the territory included within said assessment
district and which maps are on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Reference is hereby made to said map for further, full and more particular description of
said assessment district, and the said map so on file shall govern for all details as tothe extent
of said assessment district.

SECTION 4: The City Council of said City by Resolution No. 01-061 approved the
annual report of the City Engineer which report indicates the amount of the proposed
assessments, the district boundaries, assessment zones, and the method of assessment. The
report title "Annual Engineer's Report" is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Reference to said report is hereby made for all particulars for the amount and extent of the
assessments and for the extent of the work.
Time and Place of Hearing
SECTION 5: Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing is hereby scheduled in the
Civic Center Council Chambers, 10500 Civic Center Drive, City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California, 91730.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 16, 2001, AT 7:00 P.M.
Any and all persons may appear and show cause why said maintenance and service for the
existing improvements and the proposed improvements should not be done or carried out or
why assessments should not be levied and collected for fiscal year 2001/2002. Protests must
be in writing and must contain a description of the property in which each signer thereof is
interested, sufficient to identify the same, and must be delivered to the City Clerk of said City
prior to the time set for the hearing, and no other protests or objections will be considered. If the
signer of any protest is not shown upon the last equalized assessment roll such protest must
contain or be accompanied by written evidence that such signer is the owner of the property so
described.
Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972
SECTION 6: All the work herein proposed shall be done and carried through in
pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California designated as the Landscaping
and Lighting Act of 1972, being Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California.
Publication of Resolution of Intention
SECTION 7: Published notice shall be made pursuant to Section 6061 of the
Government Code. The Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the
same, and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published 10 days before the date set for
the hearing, at least once in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California.
