FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT CLOSED SESSION MINUTES
A. CALL TO ORDER
The Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District held a closed session on Wednesday, June 21,
2000, in the Tapia Room of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho
Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President William J.
Alexander.
Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, James Curatalo, Diane Williams and President William J.
Alexander.
Also present were: Jack Lain, City Manager; Pamela Easter, Deputy City Manager; Larry Temple
Administrative Services Director; and George Rivera, Administrative Services Manager.
Absent was Boardmember: Bob Dutton
B. ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION ITEMS
President Alexander announced the item to be discussed in closed session.
CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS PER GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6 TO

ACTION WAS TAKEN IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.

Regular Meeting
A. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District was held on Wednesday, June
21, 2000 in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, located at *10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho
Cucamonga, California, The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p,m, by President Alexander,
Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, James Curatalo, Diane Williams, and Chairman William
J. Alexander.
Also present were: Jack Lain, City Manager; James Markman, City Attorney; Linda D. Daniels,
Redevelopment Agency Director; Jan Reynolds, RDA Analyst; Larry Temple, Administrative Services
Director; Shelly Munson, Information Systems Specialist; Lorraine Phone, Information Systems
Analyst; Rick Gomez, Community Development Director; Joe O'Neil, City Engineer; Shintu Bose,
Deputy City Engineer; Dan Coleman, Principal Planner; Larry Henderson, Principal Planner; John
Thomas, Plan Check ManagedFire; Kevin McArdle, Community Services Director; Paula Pachon,
Management Analyst Ih Jodi Sorrell, Marketing Manager; Captain Rodney Hoops, Police

D3. Approval of General Fund 01 Monthly Expenditure Report for May 2000, in the amount of
$505,928.83.
D4. Approval of Mello-Roos CFD 85-01 Fund 02 Monthly Expenditure Report for May, 2000, in the
amount of $158,396.07.

MOTION: Moved by Willlares, seconded by Biane to approve the staff recommendations in the staff
reports contained in the Consent Calendar. Motion carried 4-0-1 (Dutton absent).
E. CONSENT ORDINANCES
El. CONSIDERATION OF FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE CONTINUING THE ANNUAL
SPECIAL TAX RATES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000/01 IN MELLO-ROOS COMMUNITY FACILITIES
DISTRICT NO. 85-1. THIS VOTER APPROVED TAX WAS INITIATED IN FY 1986/87.
ORDINANCE NO. FD 33 (second reading)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO
CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF THE SPECIAL
TAX IN MELLO-ROOS COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. 85-1
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000/2001
MOTION: Moved by Biane, seconded b~/Curatalo to waive full reading and approve Ordinance No.
FD 33. Motion carried unanimously 4-0-1 (Dutton).

No items were identified for the next meeting.
G. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Willlares, seconded by Curatalo to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously 4-0-1
(Dutton). The meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
