CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT CLOSED SESSION MINUTES
A. CALL TO ORDER
The Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District held a closed session on Wednesday, October 3, 2001,
in the Tapia Room of the Civic Center located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga,
California. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President William J. Alexander.
Present were Agencymembers: Paul Biane, Grace Curatalo, Bob Dutton, Diane Williams and President
William J. Alexander.
Aisc present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; Pamela Easter, Deputy City Manager; James Markman,
City Attorney; Linda D. Daniels, RDA Director; and Chief Dennis Michael, Fire Protection District.
B. ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION ITEMS
Chairman Alexander announced the closed session items.
B1. CONFERENCE WITH PROPERTY NEGOTIATORS PER GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.8
FOR PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED NORTH OF SUMMIT BETWEEN ETIWANDA AND EAST
AVENUES; LINDA D. DANIELS, RDA DIRECTOR, AND DENNIS MICHAEL, FIRE CHIEF,
NEGOTIATING PARTIES, REGARDING TERMS OF AGREEMENT - FIRE
C. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON CLOSED SESSION ITEMS
No one was present to comment on the closed session items.
D. CONDUCT OF CLOSED SESSION
Closed session began at 5:35 p.m.
E. RECESS
The Agency adjourned at 6:25 p.m. No action was taken in closed session.

A. CALLTO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District was held on Wednesday, October 3,
2001 in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho
Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by President William J. Alexander.
Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, Grace Curatalo, Bob Dutton, Diane Williams and President
William J. Alexander.
Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; James Markman, City Attorney; Linda D. Daniels,
Redevelopment Agency Director; Jan Reynolds, RDA Analyst; Kevin McArdle, Community Services
Director; Paula Pachon, Management Analyst IIh Joe O'Neil, City Engineer; Shintu Bose, Deputy City
Engineer; Michelle Dawson, Management Analyst Ill; Robert Lemon, Assistant Engineer Brad Buller, City
Planner; Larry Henderson, Principal Planner; Bill Makshanoff, Building Official; Jim Frost, City Treasurer;
Larry Temple, Administrative Services Director; Shelly Munson, Information Systems Specialist; Sid
Siphomsay, Information Systems Analyst; Chief Dennis Michael, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection
District; Kelly Larson, Emergency Prep Specialist; Captain Rodney Hoops, Police Department; Deborah
Clark, Library Director; Robert Karatsu, Library Services Manager; Duane Baker, Assistant to the City
Manager; Britt Wilson, Management Analyst III; Kimberly Thomas, Management Analyst II; and Debra J.
Adams, Secretary.
B. ANNOUNCEMENTS/PRESENTATIONS
B1. PRESENTATION OF A PROCLAMATION IN RECOGNITION OF "FIRE PREVENTION WEEK."
President Alexander presented the Proclamation to Kelly Larson, Emergency Prep Specialist, and Chief
Dennis Michael.
Chief Michael talked about Fire Prevention Week stating a celebration would be held at the Jersey Station
on Saturday, October 3 at 10:00 a.m.
C. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
C1. John Lyons felt the memorial service, "Rancho Cucamonga Remembers", held last night was
fabulous. He commended the City on the spectacular event.
D. IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING
No items were identified for the next meeting.

E. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Dutton, seconded by Williams to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. The
meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
