CALL TO ORDER The Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District held a closed session on Wednesday, September 19, 2001, in the Tapia Room of the Civic Center located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President William J. Alexander. Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, Grace Curatalo, Bob Dutton, Diane Williams and President William J. Alexander. Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; Pamela Easter, Deputy City Manager; Craig Fox, Assistant City Attorney; Linda D. Daniels, Redevelopment Agency Director; and Chief Dennis Michael, Fire Protection District. B. ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION ITEMS President Alexander announced the closed session item. B1. CONFERENCE WITH PROPERTY NEGOTIATORS PER GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.6 FOR PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED NORTH OF SUMMIT BETWEEN ETIWANDAND EAST AVENUES; LINDA D. DANIELS, RDA DIRECTOR, AND DENNIS MICHAEL, FIRE CHIEF, NEGOTIATING PARTIES, REGARDING TERMS OF AGAREEMENT - FIRE C. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON CLOSED SESSION ITEMS No one was present to comment on the closed session items. Closed session began at 5:35 p.m. CONDUCT OF CLOSED SESSION E. CALLTO ORDER A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District was held on Wednesday, September 19, 2001 in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by President William J. Alexander. Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, Grace Curatalo, Bob Dutton, Diane Williams and President William J. Alexander. Approval of Minutes: July 18, 2001 August 1, 2001 (Dutton absent) D2. Approval to receive and file current Investment Schedules ending July 31, 2001 and August 31, 2001. D3. Approval of General Fund 01 Monthly Expenditure Report for July, 2001, in the amount of $632,555.70. D4. Approval of Expenditure Report for the month of August, 2001, in the amount of $397,703.13. D6. Approval to amend Resolution No. FD00-012 Memorandum of Understanding with Fire Local 2274 pertaining to Paramedic Stipend. RESOLUTION NO. 01-FD 00-012A A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. FD00-012 EXHIBITS "B" AND "C" OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE DISTRICT AND RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIREFIGHTER'S LOCAL 2274 REGARDING PARAMEDIC STIPEND STARTING FISCAL YEAR 2001 D7. Approval to declare two (2) Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District-owned fire apparatus surplus. D8. Approval to declare one (1) surplus ambulance, previously donated to the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District from American Medical Response, to the Oldtimer's Foundation to be used for a senior citizen daily meal program delivery service. REMOVED OR DISCUSSION BY BOARDMEMBER DU'I-rON. D9. Approval to purchase seventy (70) self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) from the Manufacturer Mine Safety Appliance of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a negotiated .single source purchase in the amount of $254,000 to be funded from General Fund Account 3281508-5603. MOTION: Moved by Dutton, seconded by Williams to approve the staff recommendations in the staff reports contained within the Consent Calendar with the exception of item D8. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. Discussion of Item D8. Approval to declare one {1) surplus ambulance, previously donated to the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District from American Medical Response, to the Oldtimer's Foundation to be used for a senior citizen daily meal program delivery service. Staff report presented by Chief Dennis Michael, Fire Protection District. Boardmember Dutton stated he wanted the public to be aware of this and that is why he asked for the staff report. MOTION: Moved by Dutton, seconded by Biane to approve Item D8. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. E. IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING No items were identified for the next meeting.
