A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP RANCHO

NO. 4: PURSUANT TO TH~. LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTII~ ACT OF 1972

NO~, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by ~hm City Council of the Cia7 of
Rancho Cucamon~a, pursuanz ~o =he provision~ of the Landscapin8 and LishtinB
Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of =he Stare of
California, ee follmes:
SECTION 1: Description of Work: That the public interest and
convenience require and it is the intention of this City Council to form a
~ntenanca district in the City of ~ancho Cucamonga for the maintenance and
operation of those street lights the boundaries of the proposed maintenance
district described in Section 2 hereof. Said maintenance and operation
includes the cost end supervision of any lishtin~ and related facilities in
connection with said district.
SECTION 2: Location of Work: The foresoing described work is to be
located within roadway right-of-way annaarated in the report of the City
End/near and sore particularly described on asps which ara on f~le in the
office of the C~y Clerk, entitled 'Annexation No. 5 to Street Lighting
Maintenance District No. 4~.
SECTION 3: Description of AJaessment District: That the
contemplated work, in the opinion of staid City Council, is of sore than local
or ordinary public benefit, and the said City Council hereby sakes the expense
of the said work chargeable upon a district, which said district is assessed to
pay the costa and expenses thereof, and which district ia described as follows:

of ~he City Clerk of said City.
SECTION 4: Report of Engineer: The City Council of said Cimy by
Resolution No. 87-132 has approved the report of the engineer of work which
report indicates the a~ount of ~he proposed assessment, the dis=tic= boundary,
assessment zones, titled ~Engineer's Report, Street Lishting Maintenance
Distric~ No. 4" is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Reference to said report ia hereby made for all particulars for the amount and
extent of the assessments and for the extent of the work.
SECTION 5: Collection of Assessments: The assessment shall be
collected at the same time and in the sa~e manner as County texas are
collected. The City Engineer shall file a report annually with the City
Council of said City and said Council will annually conduc~ a hearing upon said
report e= their firs= resular meetinB in June. at which time assessments for
the nex~ fiscal year will be determined.
SECTION 6: Time and Place of Hearina: Notice is hereby Biven that
on April 15. I987 at the hour of 7:30 P.H. in the City Council Chambers at 9161
Base Line, in the City of Rancho Cucsmonsa, any and all persons having any
objections to =he work or ex~ent of 2he assessment district, may appear and
sho~ cause why said work should not be done or carried out or why said district
should not be formed in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests
susa bt in writin$ and must contain a description of the property in which each
signer thereof is interested, sufficient to identify .the same. and must be

delivered to the City Clerk of said City prior to the time set for the hearing,
and no other protests or objections will be considered. If the signer of any
protest is not sho~n upon the lest equalized assessment roll of San Bernardino
County as the o~ner of the property described in the protests, t-hen such
protest must contain or be acco~panled by written evidence that such signer is
the owner of the property so described.
SECTION 7: Landscapln~ and Lightin8 Act of 1972: All the work
herein proposed shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the
legislature of the State of California designated the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972, bein~ Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
C~lifornia.
SRCTION 8= Publication of Resolution of Intention= Published notice
shall be made pursuant to Section 61961 of the Govetmment Code. The Mayor
shall sign this Resolution and the City merk shall attest to the same. and the
City Clerk shall cause the same to be published 10 days before the date set for
the hearing, at least once in The Daily Report. a newspaper of general
circulation published in the City of Ontario, California. and circulated in the
City of Rancho Cuca~on~a, California.
