Recommendation •Staff recommends that the Planning Commission approve Design Review DRC2022-00209 through the adoption of Resolution 23-15 and its attached conditions. Conduit, Fiber Cables, Pullboxes, Vaults, Data Center POP, equipment. Retail content provider:Onward delivers retail gigabit internet services, and Voice services Handles all billing and customer service to select residential and business. Public Policy Changes •Condition all new developments to put in-tract fiber optic infrastructure. •ROW management, wireless ordinance, joint trench/dig once. •Request Right of Entry (ROE) into existing private developments. •Repurpose existing fiber assets: Traffic, Utility and IT fibers and infrastructure for future network expansion. Numbers •502 = # of retail customers (End of March 2023) (23% Commercial and 77% Residential) •1,765 = # of residential passings (end of June 2023) •96 = # of commercial passings •2 = # of regional 10 GB interconnections (Riverside County RC3 and LA’s One Wilshire) •88 = # of fiber miles installed citywide. •56% = Year 4 –Revenue Share amount Next Steps •Concentrate efforts to outreach to the Business Park community; •Haven Ave corridor (South 6th St to 4th St); •Increase Commercial retail customers •Increase revenues •Support economic development initiatives
