ANNOUNCEMENTS/PRESENTATIONS B1.The City of Rancho Cucamonga Public Art Committee regular meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the Serrano Conference Room at City Hall,located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. C. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS This is the time and place for the general public to address the Public Art Committee on any item listed on the agenda. State law prohibits the Public Art Committee from addressing any issue not previously included on the Agenda. Public Art Committee may receive testimony and set the matter for a subsequent meeting.Comments are to be limited to three minutes per individual. D. COMMITTEE BUSINESS D1. Consideration to approve the minutes of June 4,2024. D2. Verbal update on the Status of the Public Art Fund. D3. Verbal update on current fiscal year public art projects and initiatives. D4. Verbal update on the proposed projects for Fiscal Year 2024/2025. D5. Verbal update on the next Public Art Committee meeting date. E. Lay+� Allison Town Public Art Committee City of Rancho Cucamonga PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES JUNE 4, 2024 At 5:30 p.m. A. CALL TO ORDER The City of Rancho Cucamonga Public Art Committee held a regular meeting on Tuesday,June 4, 2024, in the Serrano Conference Room at City Hall, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. Chair Leslie Matamoros called the meeting to order at 5:38 pm. Present: Committee Members Bryan Dopp, Ilianna Salas, Ebony McGee Anderson, and Leslie Matamoros Absent: Paula Pachon Also Present: Michael Parmer, Assistant to the City Manager and Marilyn De La Cruz, Management Analyst I B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS No public communications were made. C. COMMITTEE BUSINESS C1. Consideration to approve the minutes of January 31, 2024. MOTION: Moved by Bryan Dopp seconded by Ebony McGee Anderson to approve the special meeting minutes of January 31, 2024. Motion carried 4-0 (AYES: Dopp, Salas, McGee Anderson, and Matamoros. NOES: None. ABSENT: Pachon) C2. Verbal update on the Status of the Public Art Fund. MOTION: N/A Michael Parmer provided an update on the status of the Public Art Fund balance. C3. Verbal update on current fiscal year public art projects and initiatives. MOTION: N/A Michael Parmer and Marilyn De La Cruz provided an update on the Mini-Mural project and the Utility Box Beautification program. For the mini-mural program, five wayfinding markers along the Pacifica Electric Trail (P.E. Trail) were completed. The mini-murals show a wide range of artistic voices that highlights the region's flora, history,and recreation. Details about the location, artwork title, and artist included: • "Adventures on the Pacific Electric Trail" by Cheyne Ellett, located at the intersection of Kenyon Way and the P.E.Trail • "Rancho Cucamonga Orchards and Red Cars" by Laishan Ito, located at the intersection of Haven Avenue and the P.E.Trail • "Rancho's Poppy and Rancho's Rose" by Carissa Hugo, located at the intersection of Hermosa Avenue and the P.E.Trail • "From Dusk'Till Dawn" by Casey Courey-Pickering, located at the intersection of Hellman Avenue and the P.E.Trail • "Sunrise on Base Line and Sunset on Base Line" by Talea Ross, located at the intersection of Base Line Road and the P.E.Trail The four utility boxes that were completed included: • "Take a Hike" by Derek Ortega, located at 6t" Street and Resort Parkway • "Sunday Ride" by Derek Ortega, located at Church Street and Elm Street West • "The Cooper Hawk" by John Hanrahan, located at Wilson Avenue and San Sevine Road • "Community" by Jeannette Maldonado and Ana K. Hurtado, located at Hermosa Avenue and Feron Street Additionally,three Omnitrans benches were completed. Omnitrans received an art grant to paint fifty bus benches across their service area. This included three benches in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. One bench is located at Foothill Boulevard and Grove Street and two benches are at Foothill Boulevard and Marketplace. Marilyn De La Cruz also shared that City staff are working on developing a public facing map for community members to take a virtual tour of the installations of the RC Public Art program. The map, once completed,will include artist contact information,the location and address, when the artwork was created and installed, and a brief description of the artwork (including title and image). C4. Verbal update on the proposed projects for Fiscal Year 2024/2025. MOTION: N/A Michael Parmer shared a verbal update on the proposed projects for FY 24/25, including a continuation of the Utility Box and Mini-Mural program, a public facing virtual map of all installed and upcoming art installations, and the launch of the Temporary Art Program. The Public Art Committee expressed that they are looking forward to the new programs and are interested in being involved in the artist selection process. Staff will present proposed locations and budgets at a future Public Art Committee meeting. C5.Verbal update on the next Public Art Committee meeting date. MOTION: N/A Michael Parmer informed the Committee that the next meetings would be held in September and December. D.
