MEETING MINUTES June 3, 2025
At 5:30 p.m.
A. CALL TO ORDER
The City of Rancho Cucamonga Public Art Committee held a regular meeting on Tuesday,June 3,
2025, in the Serrano Conference Room at City Hall, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho
Cucamonga, California.
Chair Leslie Matamoros called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m.
Present: Committee Members Bryan Dopp, Tina Gilfry, Leslie Matamoros, Ebony McGee
Andersen
Absent: Ilianna Salas
Also Present: Allison Town, Management Analyst I and Michael Parmer, Director of Engagement
and Special Programs
B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
No public communications were made.
C. COMMITTEE BUSINESS
C1. Consideration to approve the minutes of March 4, 2025.
MOTION: Moved by Leslie Matamoros seconded by Ebony McGee Andersen to approve the
meeting minutes of March 4, 2025. Motion carried 4-0(AYES: Dopp, Gilfry, McGee Anderson,and
Matamoros. NOES: None. ABSENT: Salas)
C2. Verbal update on the Status of the Public Art Fund.
MOTION: N/A
Allison Town provided an update on the status of the Public Art Fund balance.
C3. Verbal update on current fiscal year public art projects and initiatives.
MOTION: N/A
Allison Town provided an update on the Utility Box Beautification program. Four Utility Boxes
were completed, showing a variety of artistic voices that highlight the region's flora, history, and
community spirit.
• "Rancho Handbook" by Cheyne Ellett- Location 14th St. &Golden Oak Rd.
• "Wheels and Warbirds" by Brandon Carn, located at Foothill Blvd. and Red Hill Country Club Dr.
• "Ceanothus Silkmoth 619" By Carisa Hugo, located at Carnelian St. & Lemon Ave.
• "Rancho Bloom" by Kimberly Duran, located at Base Line Rd. & Etiwanda Ave.
C4. Verbal update on the proposed projects for Fiscal Year 2025/2026.
MOTION: N/A
Town shared that City staff are working on the continuation of the Mini-Mural project for FY
25/26.The rollout will begin in September with the release of Artist RFQ's, artist submissions
will be due October 23,Juror review+selection will also occur in October,and final installation
concluding in February 2026.The Public Art Committee expressed that they are looking forward
to the new programs and are interested in being involved in the artist selection process. Staff
will present proposed locations and budgets at a future Public Art Committee meeting.
C5.Verbal update on the next Public Art Committee meeting date.
MOTION: N/A
Allison Town informed the Committee that the next meetings would be held in September and
December.
D. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Leslie Matamoros adjourned the meeting at 5:47 p.m.
