V~REAS, St. Clare of Assisi Ep{ ~3 Church has filed an application for Landmark Designation 94-01, as described in the title of this to as "the application." ~S, on March 9, 1994, the H~coric Preservation O .... {~ion of tbm city of Rancho Cu~ conducted a duly noticed public hearir~ on the application and, following the conclusion of said public hearing, adopted Resolution No. 94-02, thereby r~o',m~ding to this City Council that said application be approved. ~EAS, on June 1, 1994, the city Council of the city of Rancho Cucamonga conducted a meeting on the application and concl~__~_ said meeting on that date. WHEREAS, all legal prerequisites prior to the adoption of this Resolution haveoocurred. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Oouncil of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby find, determine, and resolveas follc~s: SECTION 1: The application applies to property located at Assessor Parcel Number: 227-071-17; Legal Description: Etiwarda Colony Lands W 1/2 Lot 4 BLK G 5 AC. S~fION 2: One of the fe~, if not the only, grove house still surrounded by a citrus grove in the Etiwanda tc~nsite, the Mueller House is a very significant contr~ to our understandir~ of the area's rich agricultural past. The proposed landmark meets the following criteria esta_blished in Chapter 2.24.090 of the Rancho Cucamonga F~u%icipal Oode: A. Historical and Cultural Significance: The proposed landmark is particularly re~amsentative of a historical period, type, style, region, or way of life. The proposed landmark is an example of a type of building which was once c~,~on but is nc~ rare. Historic ArchitecturalandEngineeringSignificance. The overall effect of the design of the proposed landmark is b~autiful, or its details and rot, rials are beautiful or unusual. C. Neighborhood and Geographic Setting: The proposed lardmark materially benefits the historic chara~ of the neighborhood. The proposed lardmark, in its location, represents an established and familiar visual feature of the neighborhood, oa,.lunity, and City (Ord. 70 S9, 1979). S~fIC{q 3: 19, Section 15308). Designation of a landmark is exempt frcm CH~QA (Article S~CTION 4: Based on the subetantial evidence reoeivedandreviewed by this Council and basedonthe findings set forthabove, BE IT FUR/HER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamc~ga approves the designation of the Ernst Mueller House, Landmark Designation 94-01, as a Historic Lardmark and that the City Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Ouunty Recorder within 90 days of its passage.
