District, hereinafter called District, be formed; and
V~EAS, Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code Sectic~ 13.04 est_m_blishes a
procedure for the creation of Urdergrc~d Utility Districts and requires as
the initial step in such prooedure the holding of a public hearing to
removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the
underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric,
c~,~unication or similar associated service in any such district.
NC~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, Califorrtia as follows:
S~/CION 1: That an Underground Utility District be formed in the
following described area:
Those portions of Cucamonga H~nest~_d Association Map
Book 6, Page 46; Parcel Map 10884 Parcel Map Book 120,
Pages 36 and 37; Tract No. 8919 Map Book 122, Pages 99
and 100; Tract No. 11350 Map Book 160, Pages 26 and 27;
Tract Map 9449 Map Book 136, Pages 99 and 100; Tract No.
9451 Map Book 132, Pages 33 and 34; Parcel Map 4251
Parcel Map Book 43, Pages 61 and 62; and Cucamonga Fruit
Lands Map Book 4, Page 9; all records of the San
Bernardino County Recorder, State of California lying
within a strip of land 160 feet wide, the centerline of
said strip is described as:
Beginning at the intersection of Archibald Avenue and
Base Line RDad; thence East along the centerline of Base
Line Roadtothe intersection withHermosaAvenue.
The sidelines of said strip being parallel to said
centerline and distant at right angles to said centerline
of Base Line Road. The sidelines being lengthened or
shortened to terminate with the centerlines of said
Archibald Avenue and Hermosa Avenue.
S~JCION 2: NOTICE IS ~ GIV~ that a public hearing will be held
by the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga on August 18, 1993, at the
hour of 7:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at 10500 Civic Cerfcer Drive,
Rancho Cu~_a.~.ni-~ga, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity,
health, safety or welfare requires the removal of poles, ~ wires and
associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and
facilities for supplying electric, ccmm~nication or similar associated service
in the District herein described.

S~/CION 3: At such hearing, all persons ~ shall be given an
oppc~cunity to be heard. Said hearing my be continued fr~ time to time as
may be determined by City Council.
S~fIC~ 4: ~ne City Clerk shall notify all affected pro~ owners
as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned, of the
time and plaoe of suc~ hearing and by mailing a copy of this Resolution to
such pr~ owners and utilities concerned at least ten (10) days prior to
the date thereof.
SECTIO~ 5: The area proposed to be included in the District is shown
upon that certain map entitled '~3nderground Utility District No. 3", which is
on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
PRIORITIZED LIST OF POTENTIAL PROJECTS FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ACTIVE UNDERGROUNDING
PROGRAM
WI~EREAS, under the provisions of Public Utilities Commission
Rule 20, the Edison Company makes available each year funds to cities
for the purpose of undergrounding overhead utility lines; and,
WHEREAS, since incorporation, Rancho Cucamonga has accumulated
$293,111 in this account; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Staff has undertaken to acquaint the
Council with the existence of these funds, the procedures involved in
the development of a project and reco~nend a priority for projects for
implementation under the program.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Rancho Cucamonga, that the following six potential projects along
major arterial streets are adopted in priority order for implementation
of an active undergrounding program:
1. Archibald Avenue - Foothill Boulevard to Base Line Road.
2. Foothill Boulevard - Haven Avenue to Ramona Avenue.
3. Haven Avenue - Arrow Route to Lemon Avenue.
4. Base Line Road - Carnelian Street to Turner Avenue.
5. Carnelian Street - Base Line Road to 19th Street.
6. Nineteenth Street - Haven Avenue to West City Boundary.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City Council directs staff to
implement the following project with currently available funds:
1. Archibald Avenue - Foothill Boulevard to Base Line Road.
