President William J. Alexander called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Present were Boardmembers: Rex Gutierrez (arrived at 7:06 p.m.) Robert J. Howdyshell, Donald J. Kurth, M.D., Diane Williams and President William J. Alexander. Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; Pamela Easter, Deputy City Manager; James Markman, City Attorney; Linda D. Daniels, RDA Director; James C. Frost, City Treasurer; Larry Temple, Administrative Services Director; Tamara Layne, Finance Office; Rose Colum, Budget Analyst;, Helen Leeds, Sr. Accountant; Lorraine Phong, Information Systems Analyst; Michael Toy, Information Systems Specialist; Joe O'Neil, City Engineer; Dan James, Sr. Civil Engineer; Brad Buller, City Planner; Dan Coleman, Principal Planner; Larry Henderson, Principal Planner; Debra Meier, Associate Planner; Trang Huynh, Building Official; Kevin McArdle, Community Services Director; Dave Moore, Recreation Superintendent; Paula Pachon, Management Analyst III; Deborah Clark, Library Director; Captain Pete Ortiz, Rancho Cucamonga Police Department; Fire Chief Dennis Michael and Battalion Chief Peter Bryan, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District; Kimberly Thomas, Management Analyst II; Kathy Scott, Deputy City Clerk; and Debra J. Approval of Minutes: October 1,2003 D2. Reject all bids received for the construction of the Upgrade of Underground Fuel Tanks for Fire Stations 174 and 175 as non-responsive to the needs of the City. Approval of a Resolution to amend the 2003-04 Memorandum of Understanding between the Rancho Cucamenga Fire Protection District and the Fire Management Employees Group and the Fire Support Services Association. RESOLUTION NO. FD 03-035 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AMENDING THE 2003-04 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND THE FIRE MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES AND THE FIRE SUPPORT SERVICES ASSOCIATION MOTION: Moved by Kurth, seconded by Williams to approve the staff recommendations in the staff reports contained within the Consent Calendar. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. El. BRIEFING REGARDING THE GRAND PRIX FIRE THAT AFFECTED RANCHO CUCAMONGA - Oral Report A power point Presentation was given by Chief Dennis Michael of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District, which is on file in the City Clerk's office. ACTION: Report received and filed. E2. UPDATE ON FIRE STATION UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN THE NORTH ETIWANDA AREA - Oral Report Chief Dennis Michael, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District, stated there was minimal fire damage to this new station, which would result in a one to two week delay because of the damage. He stated the station would be done near the end of December or the first part of January 2004. ACTION: Report received and filed. II F. IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS FOR THE NEXT MEETING No items were identified for the next meeting.
