A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO LEVY AND
COLLECT ASSESSMENT WITH LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO.
1, LANDSCAPE DISTRICT NO. 2, LANDSCAPE DISTRICT NO. 3,
LANDSCAPE DISTRICT NO. 4, LANDSCAPE DISTRICT NO. 5, AND
LANDSCAPE DISTRICT NO. 6 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1987-88
PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972; AND
OFFERING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS THERETO
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga pursuant to the
provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, being Division 15 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does resolve as
fo 11 ows:
Description of Work
Section 1: That the public interest and convenience require and it is
the intention of this City Council to levy and collect assessments within
Landscape Maintenance District No. 1, Landscape Maintenance District No. 2,
Landscape Maintenance District No. 3, Landscape Maintenance District No. 4,
Landscape Maintenance District No. 5, and Landscape Maintenance District No.
6 for the fiscal year 1987-88 for the maintenance and operation of those
parkways and facilities thereon dedicated for common greenbelt and lighting
purposes by deed or recorded subdivision tract map within the boundaries of
said Districts. Said maintenance and operation includes the cost and
supervision of parkway maintenance (including sprinkler systems, trees,
grass, plantings, landscaping, ornamental lighting, structures and walls, and
related facilities) in connection with said districts.
Location of Work
Section 2: The foregoing described work is to be located within the
roadway right-of-way and landscaping easements enumerated in the report of
the City Engineer and more particularly described on maps which are on file
in the City Clerk's Office, entitled "Assessment Diagrams Landscape
Maintenance District No. 1", "Assessment Diagrams Landscape Maintenance
District No. 2", "Assessment Diagrams Landscape Maintenance District No. 3",
"Assessment Diagrams Landscape Maintenance District No. 4", "Assessment
Diagrams Landscape Maintenance District No. 5", and "Assessment Diagrams
Landscape Maintenance District No. 6".
Description of Assessment Districts
Section 3: That the contemplated work, in the opinion of said City
Council, is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and the said City
Council hereby makes the expense of the said work chargeable upon the

upon the districts, which said districts, which said districts are assessed
to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which districts are described as
follows;
All that certain territory of the City of Rancho Cucamonga included
within the exterior boundary lines shown upon that certain "Map of Landscape
Maintenance District No. 1", "Map of Landscape Maintenance District No. 2",
"Map of Landscape Maintenance District No. 3", "Map of Landscape Maintenance
District No. 4", "Map of Landscape Maintenance District No. 5", "Map of
Landscape Maintenance District No. 6", indicating by said boundary lines the
extent of the territory included within each assessment district and which
maps are on file in the Office of the City Clerk of said City.
Reference is hereby made to said maps for further, ful 1 and more
particular description of said assessment districts, and the said maps so on
file shall govern for all details as to the extent of said assessment
districts.
Report of Enqineer
Section 4: The City Council of said City by Resolution No. 87-225 has
approved the annual report of the City Engineer which report indicates the
amount of the proposed assessments, the district boundaries, assessment
zones, and the method of assessment. The report titled "Annual Engineer's
Report, Landscape Maintenance Districts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6" is on file
in the Office of the City Clerk of said City. Reference to said report is
hereby made for all particulars for the amount and extent of the assessments
and for the extent of the work.
Time and Place of Public Hearin.~
Section 5: Notice is hereby given that on the 3rd day of June, 1987, at
the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers in the City of Rancho
Cucamonga, any and all persons may appear and show cause why said work should
not be done or carried out or why assessments should not be levied and
collected for fiscal year 1987-88. Protests must be in writing and must
contain a description of the property in which each signer thereof is
interested, sufficient to identify the same, and must be delivered to the
City Clerk of said City prior to the time set for the Hearing, and no other
protests or objections will be considered. If the signer of any protest is
not shown upon the last equalized assessment roll of such protest must
contain or be accompanied by written evidence that such signer is the owner
of the property so described.
Landscapin9 and Lightin9 Act of 1972
Section 6: All the work herein proposed shall be done and carried
through in pursuance of an act of the legislative of the State of California
designated the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.

Section 7: Published notice shall be made pursuant to Section 6961 of
the Government Code. The Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk
shall attest to the same, and ~he City Clerk shall cause the same to be
published 10 days before the date set for the hearing, at least once in The
Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of
Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California.
