A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO LEVY AND
COLLECT ASSESSMENTS WITHIN STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT NO. 1, STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO.
2, STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 8, STREET
LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 4, AND STREET LIGHTING
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 6 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1987-88
PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972; AND
OFFERING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS THERETO
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, pursuant to the
provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, being Division 15 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does resolve as
fol 1 ows:
Section 1: Description of Work. That the public interest and
convenience require and it is the intention of this City Council to levy and
collect assessments within Street Lighting Maintenance Districts Nos. 1, 2,
8, 4, and 6 for the fiscal year 1987-88 for the maintenance and operation of
those street lights within the boundaries of the proposed maintenance
district described in Section 2 hereof. Said maintenance and operation
includes the cost and supervision of any lighting and related facilities in
connection with said district.
Section 2: Location of Work. The foregoing described work is to be
located within roadway right-of-way enumerated in the report of the City
Engineer and more particularly described on maps which are on file in the
office of the City Clerk entitled "Assessment Diagrams Street Lighting
Maintenance Districts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5".
Section 8: Description of Assessment District. That the contemplated
work, in the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and the said City Council hereby makes the expense of the
said work chargeable upon a district, which said district is assessed to pay
the costs and expenses thereof, and which district is described as follows:
All that certain territory of the City of Rancho Cucamonga included
within the exterior boundary lines shown upon that certain "Map of Street
Lighting Maintenance Districts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5" indicated by said
boundary lines the extent of the territory included within each
assessment district and which maps are on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City.

Reference is hereby made to said maps for further, full and more
particular description of said assessment districts, and the said maps so
on file shall govern for all details, and the said maps so on file shall
govern for all details as to the extent of said assessment districts.
Section 4: Report of Enqineer. The City Council of said City by
Resolution No. 87-223 has approved the report of the engineer of work which
report indicates the amount of the proposed assessment, the district
boundary, assessment zones, and the method of assessment. The report titled
"Annual Engineer's Report, Street Lighting Maintenance Districts Nos. 1, 2,
3, 4, and 5" is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Reference to said report is hereby made for all particulars for the amount
and extent of the assessments and for the extent of the work.
Section 5: Time and Place of Hearing. Notice is hereby given that on
the 3rd day of June, 1987, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers at 9161 Baseline, in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, any and all
persons having any objections to the work or extent of the assessment
district, may appear and show cause why said work should not be done or
carried out or why assessments should not be levied and collected for fiscal
year 1987-88. Protests must be in writing and must contain a description of
the property in which each signer thereof is interested, sufficient to
identify the same, and must be delivered to the City Clerk of said City prior
to the time set for the hearing, and no other protests or objections will be
considered. If the signer of any protest is not shown upon the last equalized
assessment roll of San Bernardino County as the owner of the property
described in the protests, then such protest must contain or be accompanied
by written evidence that such signer is the owner of the property so
described.
Section 6: Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. All the work herein
proposed shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the
legislature of the State of California designated the Landscaping and
Lighting Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California.
Section 7: Publication of Resolution of Intention. Published notice
shall be made pursuant to Section 61961 of the Government Code. The Mayor
shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and
the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published 10 days before the date
set for the hearing, at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and
circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
