A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE WORK IN CONNECTION
WITH ANNEXATION NO. 1 TO STREET L IGNTING MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT NO. 6 AND ACCEPTING THE FINAL ENGINEER' S REPORT
FOR MDR 87-05, DR 86-19 AND PARCEL MAP 10037
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga did on the
15th day of July, 1987, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 87-376 to order
the therein described work in connection with Annexation No. 1 to Street
Lighting Maintenance District No. 6. which Resolution of Intention No. 87-376
was duly and legally published in the time, form and manner as required by law.
shown by the Affidavit of Publication of said Resolution of Intention on file
in the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notice of the passage of said
Resolution of Intention, headed "Notice of Improvement", was duly and legally
posted in the time, form, manner, location, and number as required by law, as
appears from the Affidavit of Posting said notices, on fd/e in the office of
the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notices of the adoption of the
Resolution of Intention were duly mailed to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed for the improvements described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 87-376, according to the names and addresses of such owners as
the same appears on the last mailing or as known to the City Clerk of the City
of Rancho Cucamonga, which said copies were duly mailed in the time, form, and
manner as required by law, as appears from the Affidavit of Mailing on file in
the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, said City Council having duly received considered evidence.

concerning the necessity for the contemplated work and the benefits to be
derived therefrom and said City Council having now acquired jurisdiction to
order the proposed work.
SECTION 1: It is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga that the public interest and convenience requires the
annexation to the District and the ordering of the work, and said City Council
hereby orders that the work, as set forth and described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 87-376, be done and made; and
SECTION 2: The Report filed by the Engineer is hereby finally
approved; and

SECTION 3: The assessments and method of assessment in the Engineer's
Report are hereby approved.
SECTION 4: The assessments shall not begin until after 60 percent of
said tracts have been occupied.

Engineer's Report for
Street Lighting Maintenance District No. 6
Annexation No. 1 for
HDR 87-05, DR 86-19 and Parcel Map 10037
SECTION 1. Authority for Report
This report is in compliance with the requirements of Article 4,
Chapter 1, Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code, State of
California {Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972).
SECTION 2. General Description
This City Council has elected to annex the developments en~nerated in
Exhibit "A" into Street Lighting Maintenance District No. 6. The City
Council has determined that the street lights to be maintained will have
an effect upon said developments as well as on the developments directly
abutting the street lights.
Work to be provided for with the assessments established by the
di strict are:
The furnishing of services and materials for the ordinary and
usual maintenance, operating and servicing of street light
improvements on collector streets. Improvement maintenance is
considered of general benefit to all areas in the District and
cost shall be divided on unit basis.
SECTION 3. Plans and Specifications
The plans and specifications for street lighting have been prepared
by the developers. The plans and street lights are as stipulated in the
conditions of approval for the development and as approved by the City
Engi neering Di vision. Reference i s hereby made to the subject
development plan and the assessment diagram for the exact location of the
street lighting areas.. :The plans and specifications for street lighting
improvement on the individual development is hereby made a part of this
report to the same extent as if said plans and specifics were attached
hereto.
Detailed maintenance activities on the street lighting district
include: the repair, removal or replacement of all or any part of
any improvement, providing for the illumination of the subject area.

SECTION 4. Estimated Costs
No costs wi 11 be incurred for street 1 ighti ng improvement
construction. All improvements will be constructed by developers. Based
on available data, it is estimated that maintenance costs for assessment
purposes will be as indicated below. These costs are estimated only,
actual assessments will be based on actual cost data.
The estimated total cost for Lighting Maintenance District No. 6
including Annexation No. 1 is shown below:

SECTION 5. Assessment Diagram
Copies of the proposed Assessment Diagrams are attached to this
report and labeled "Street Lighting Maintenance District No. 6",
Annexation No. 1. These diagrams are hereby incorporated within the text
of this report.

SECTION 6. Assessment
Zmprovements for the Distrtct are found to be of general benefit to
all dwe111ng units within the District and that assessment shall be equal
for each untt. i/here there is more than one dwelltng unit per lot or
parcel of assessable land, the assessment for each lot or parcel shall be
proportional to the nlber of dwelltng untts per lot or parcel.
It ts proposed that all future development shall be annexed to the
Di strict.
SECTION 7. Order of Events
1. City Council adopts Resolution of Preliminary Approval of City
Engineer' s Report.
2. City Council adopts Resolution of Intention to annex a District and
sets public hearing date.
3. City Council conducts public hearing, considers all testimony and
determines to form a District or abandon the proceedings.
4. Every year in May, the City Engineer files a report with the City
Counci 1.
5. Every year in June, the City Council conducts a public hearing and
approves, or modifies and approves the individual assessments.
