A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMDNGA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE WORK IN CONNECTION
WITH ANNEXATION NO. 6 TO STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT NO. 6 AND ACCEPTING THE FINAL ENGINEER' S REPORT
FOR DR 87-22, DR 86-42 AND CUP 85-37 (PCL 3 OF PM 9487)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga did on the
18th day of November, 1987, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 87-632 to
order the therein described work in connection with Annexation No. 6 to Street
Lighting Maintenance District No. 6, which Resolution of Intention No. 87-632
was duly and legally published in the time, form and manner as required by law,
shown by< the Af-fidavit of Publication of said Resolution of Intention on file
in the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notice of the passage of said
Resolution of Intention, headed "Notice of Improvement", was duly and legally
posted in the time, form, manner, location, and number as required by law, as
appears from the Affidavit of Posting said notices, on file in the office of
the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notices of the adoption of the
Resolution of Intention were duly mailed to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed for the improvements described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 87-632, according to the names and addresses of such owners as
the same appears on the last mailing or as known to the City Clerk of the City
of Rancho Cucamonga, which said copies were duly mailed in the time, form, and
manner as required by law, as appears from the Affidavit of Mailing on file in
the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, said City Council having duly received considered evidence,
oral and documentary, concerning the jurisdiction facts in this proceeding and
concerning the necessity for the contemplated work and the benefits to be
derived therefrom and said City Council having now acquired jurisdiction to
order the proposed work.
SECTION 1: It is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga that the public interest and convenience requires the
annexation to the District and the ordering of the work, and said City Council
hereby orders that the work, as set forth and described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 87-632, be done and made; and
SECTION 2: The Report filed by the Engineer is hereby finally
approved; and
SECTION 3: The assessments and method of assessment in the Engineer's
Report are hereby approved.

SECTION 4: The assessments shall not begin until after 60 percent of
said tracts have been occupied.

Engineer' s Report for
Street Lighting Maintenance District No. 6
Annexation No. 6 for
DR 87-22, DR 86-42 and
CUP 85-37 (pcl 3 of PM 9487)
SECTION 1. Authority for Report
This report is in compliance with the requirements of Article 4,
Chapter 1, Division 15 of the Streets and Nighways Code, State of
California (Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972).
SECTION 2. General Description
This City Council has elected to annex all nw developments tnto
Street Lighting Maintenance District No, 6, The City Counctl has
determined that the street lights to be maintained will have an effect
upon all lots within said developments as well as on the lots dtrectly
abutting the street lights,
Work to be provided for with the assessments established by the
district are:
The furnishing of services and materials for the ordinary and
usual maintenance, operating and servicing of street l t~:ct
improvements on major streets (arterial and certain col tot
streets) as shown on the Lighting District Altas Map which is
on file with the City Engineer. Improvement maintenance is
considered of general benefit to all areas in the District and
cost shall be assessed on a per unit basis.
SECTION 3. Plans and Specifications
The plans and specifications for street lighting have been prepared
by the developers. The plans and street lights are as sttpulatod in the
conditions of approval for the development and as approved by the City
Engineering Division. Reference is hereby made to the subject tract map
or development Man and the assessment diagram for the exact locatton of
the street lighting areas. The plans and specifications for street
lighting improvement on the individual development is hereby made a part
of this Pepoft to the same extent as if said plans and specifics were
attached hereto.
Oetailed maintenance activities on the street lighting district
include: the repair, removal or replacement of all or any part of
any improvement, providing for the illumination of the subject area.

SECT:ION 4. Estimated' Costs
No costs will be incurred for street 11ghttng improvement
construction. All improvements will be constructed by developers. Based
on available data, it is estimated that maintenance costs for assessment
purposes will be as indicated below. These costs are estimated only,
actual assessments will be based on actual cost data.
Street Ltghttng Maintenance District No. 6 has been demarcated tnto
two zones. Zone 1 is comprised of street light improvements on major
streets for residential improvements (stngle famtly, eulti-famtly,
condoetntues and apartments) throughout the City. Each dwe]ltng unit tn
this zone wt]l be assessed as one assesseent unit for the operation of
the District.
Zone 2 is comprised of all industrial, coeserctal and Institutional
projects throughout the City. It has been deteretned that one acre of
land in Industrial, conmerctal and Institutional areas derives the same
beneftt as two assesscent untts in Zone 1.

Annexation No. 6. These diagrams are hereby Incorporated wtthfn the text
of thts report.
SECTION 6. Assessment
Zmprovements for the Dtstrtct are found to be of general benefit to
all untts wtthtn the 01strict and that assessment shall be equal for each
untt. When untts are based on acreage, assessment wtll be 2 untts per
net acre.
SECTION 7. Order of Events
1. Ctty Council adopts Resolution of Preliminary Approval of City
Engtneer's Report.
2. Ctty Counctl adopts Resolution of Zntentfon to annex a 0tstrtct and
sets public heartrig date.
3. Clty Counctl conducts publlc heartng, considers all tosttmeny and
detemtnes to fom a 0tstrtct or abandon the proceedings.
4. Every year tn Nay, the City Engtneer ftles a report wtth the Ctty
Counct1.
5. Every year tn June, the Ctty Counct1 conducts a publtc heartrig and
approves, or eodtftes and approves the Individual assessments.
