A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCliO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE ANNEXATION TO LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 3, AN
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT: DESIGNATING SAID ANNEXATION A~
ANNEXATION NO. 9 TO LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 3;
PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING' AND LIGHTING ACT .OF 1972 AND
OFFERING A TIME AND FLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS THERETO
NO~, _~EREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972. being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Description of Work: That the public interest and
convenience require and it is the intention of this City Ceuncil to form a
maintenance district in the City. of Rancho Cucamonga for .,the maintenance and
operation of those parkways and facilities thereon dedicated for common
greenbelt purposes. by deed o~ recorded subdivision tract map within the
boundaries of the proposed maintenance' district described in Section 2 hereof.
Said maintenance and operation incIudes the cost and supervision of any
sprinkler system. trees,. grass, planrings, .landscaping., ornamental lighting,
structures..and walla in connection with sa{d parkways.
SECTION 2. Location of Work: ' The foregoing described work is to be
located within roadway right-of-way and. landscaping easements of Landscape
Maintenance District No. 3 enumerated in the report of the City Engineer and
more particularly described _on maps which are on file in .the office of the City
Clerk, entitled "Annexation No. 9 to Landscape ~aintenance District No. 3".
SECTION 3. Descr~tion. o~ Assessmen~ District: T~at' the 'contemplated
work, in the opinion of said City Council. is of more than local or ordinar7
public benefit, and the said City Council hereby makes the expense of the said
work chargeable upon & district, which said district is assessed to pay the
costs and expenses thereof, and whhh'district is .described as. follc~s:
All that certain territory of the City of Rancho Cucsmonga
included within the exterior boundary lines ;shown upon
that certain andp of' Annexation No. 9 to Landscape
Maintenance District No. 3"~ heretofore approved by the
City Council of said City by Resolution No. 87-598.
indicating by said boundary lines the extant of the
territory included within the proposed assessment district
and which map is on f~/e in the office of the City Clerk
of said City.

SECTION 4. Report of Engineer: The City Councll of said City by
Resolution No. 87-598 has approved the report of the engineer of work which
report indicates the amount of the proposed assessment, the district boundary,
assessment zones, titled wEnSinserts Report, Annexation No. 9. Landscape
Maintenance District No. 3" is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City. Reference to said report is hereby made for sll particulars for the
amount and extent of the assessments and for the extent of the work.
S~CTION 5. Collection of Assessmentsz The assessment shall be
collected at the same time amd in the same manner as County taxes are
collected. The City EnSineer shall file a report annually with the City
Council of said City and said Council will annually conduct a hearinS upon said
report at their first tabular meetinS in June, at which time assessments for
the next fiscs/year will be determined.
SECTION 6. Time and Place of Hearing: Notice is hereby Siven that on
December 2, 1987, at the hour of 7:30 pm in the City Council Chambers at 9161
Base Line, in the City of Rancho CucmmonSa, any end all persons hayinS any
objections to the work or extent of the assessment dtstric~. may appear end
show cause why said work should not be doue or carried out or why said district
should not be formed in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests
must be in wrttinS and must contain a descriptioa of the preper~y in which each
siSnor ~hereof is interested, sufficient to idemrify the same, and must be
delivered to the City Clerk of said City prior to The time set for the hearinS,
and no other protests or objections will be considered. If the signer of any
protest is not shown upon the last equalized assessment roll of San Bernardino
County as the owner of the property described in the protests, then such
protest must contain or be accompanledby written evidence that such signer is
the owner of The property so described.
SECTION 7. LandscapimS and I~ghtinS Act of 1972: All the work heroin
proposed shall be done and carried throuSh in pursuance of an act of the
leSislature of the State of California desiSnated the LandscapinS and LiShtinS
Act of 1972, beimS Division 15 of the Streets mad HiShways Code of the State of
California.
SECTION 8. Publication of Resolution of Intention: Published notice
shall be made pmrs-mnt to Section 61961 of the Government Code. The Mayor
shall siSn this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the
City Clerk shall cause the same to be published 10 days before the date set for
the hearthS, at least once in The Deil~ Report, a newspaper of Seneral
circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the
City of Rancho CucamonSa. California.
