A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, TO SUPPORT H.R. 3389, THE
BILLBOARD CONTROL ACT OF 1989
WHEREAS, H.R. 3389, the Billboard Control Act of 1989 was introduced
by Congressman John Lewis of Georgia on October 2, 1989; and
WHEREAS, H.R. 3389, returns to states and local governments the right
to regulate existing billboards under their own land use laws; and
WHEREAS, H.R. 3389, places a moratorium on new billboard construction
along interstates and federal primary aide highways; and
WHEREAS, H.R. 3389, shall find a State to be in non-compliance if
vegetation, located on any land on which the State owns a right-of-way, is
allowed to be cut, altered, or removed for the purpose of improving the
visibility of any outdoor advertising sign, display, or device.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does
hereby support H.R. 3389.
