A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, STRESSING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FOOTHILL BOULEVARD
AND ROCHESTER AVENUE INTERSECTION TO THE CITIZENS OF THE
CITY AND URGING FIRST PRIORITY PROCESSING OF THE CITY'S
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the need for safety improvements at the intersection of
Foothill Boulevard (R~ute 66) and Rochester Avenue has been evident for some
time; and
WHEREAS, low priority has been given this work in the past by the
Department of Transportation, despite rapid development in the area; and
WHEREAS, the City has undertaken these improvements at its own'
expense, with no guarantee of participation by the Department; and
WHEREAS, the complex alignment and drainage problems and necessary
right-of-way procedures have resulted in an extended project time.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamenga does
hereby resolve that because of the potential for loss of life and severe
injury at this intersection the Department of Transportation is urgently
requested to make every effort to expedite the review and processing of the
remaining portions of this important project.
