A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION
BY THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
THE KENYAN WAY RAILROAD CROSSING AND URGING THE
PROCESSING THEREOF
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the crossing is necessary and
vital to the development in the area and the protection of the public; and
WHEREAS, various additional local agencies including but not limited
to, school districts, fire department, police department, water district, etc.
have also determined a need for the railroad crossing for the welfare and
safety of all concern; and
WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Railroad is undecided as to the need for
the railroad crossing.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does
hereby resolve that because of the potential for loss of life, severe injury
and extensive time delays, the Southern Pacific Railroad is urgently requested
to make every effort to process the railroad crossing at Kenyan Way.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 18th day of July, 1990.
