A RESOLUTION OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA PLANNING
COMMISSION RECOMMENDING AMENDMENTS OF THE
ADOPTED INTERIM LAND USE, CIRCULATION AND
PUBLIC FACILITIES ELEMENT OF THE I{ANCHO
CUCAMONGA GENERAL PLAN TO THE CITY COUNCIL
WHEPd~AS, the City has established the 2nd meeting in September as the 1979
General Plan Amendment hearing date for Planning Commission review, and;
WHEREAS, comments were heard and considered both pro and con regarding the
requested General Plan Amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Rancho Cucamonga Planning Commission
does hereby recommend that the City Council approve amendment to the General Plan
Land Use Element as follows:
SECTION 1: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-03D, amend the Land Use Map
for lands bounded by Red Hill Country Club Drive, Tapia Via, Rancheria
Drive and San Bernardino Road, including lands 150' east of Tapia Via
and south 300' from San Bernardino Road from Low Density Residential to
Medium Density Residential (Exhibit A).
SECTION 2: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-03E amend the Land Use Map
for the northwest corner of Baseline Avenue and Haven~Avenue.from Medium Density
Residential to Low Density Residential (Exhibit B).
SECTION 3: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-03F, amending and clarifying
the definition of Alternative Commercial sites as shown on Exhibit C
through H and adding the following policy changes to the General Plan Text:
1. Alternative Commercial asterisks shown on the
General Plan are only general locations and show
that there is a potential for the location of
shopping centers in that immediate area. Depending
upon the size of the property and the market area
served, the commercial center may be either neigh-
borhood or community.
2. No more than two commercial centers are to be
located at any one intersection.
3. For Neighborhood Centers, sites should fall within
approximate size range of 3 to 8 acres and for a
Community Shopping Center, sites should fall within
an approximate range of 10 to 30 acres.
4. Commercial centers should be located at least one-
half mile apart except for the two allowed at inter-
sections.

SECTION 4: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-03I, amend the Land
Use Map for property beginning at a point 600' feet'west of Haven on
the north side of Baseline and extending approximately 670 feet along
Baseline and extending north to the Pacific Electric Railroad right-
of-way from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential
(Exhibit I).
SECTION 5: Recommend adoption of a Negative Declaration for each of
the General Plan Amendments, General Plan Amendment 79-03D, General
Plan Amendment 79-03E, General Plan Amendment 79-03F, and General Plan
Amendment 79-03I.

and Archibald and replaces the asterisk with neighborhood community land

east corner of Foothill and Haven is moved to the intersection of
Foothill Blvd. and Haven Avenue.

east and west side of Haven Avenue into one asterisk on Haven
between Lemon Avenue and Highland Avenue. Also the southwest corner
of Lemon Avenue and Haven Avenue is designated Neighborhood Commu-
nity.
