I The Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District held a special closed session on Wednesday, October 6, 2004, in the Tapia Room of the Civic Center located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President William J. Alexander. Present were Boardmembers: Rex Gutierrez, Robed J. Howdyshell, Donald J. Kurth, M.D., Diane Williams and President William J. Alexander. Aisc present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; Pamela Easter, Deputy City Manager; Craig Fox, Deputy City Attorney; Larry Temple, Administrative Services Director; and George Rivera, Administrative Services Manager. President William J. Alexander called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. Present were Boardmembers: Rex Gutierrez, Robert J. Howdyshell, Donald J. Kurth, M.D., Diane Williams and President William J. Alexander. Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; Craig Fox, Deputy City Attorney; Linda D. Approval to accept the bids received and award and authorize the execution of the contract in the amount of $16,141.00 to the apparent Iow bidder, Pacific Construction Co., Inc. (CO FD 04-005), and authorize the expenditure of a 10% contingency in the amount of $1,614.10 for the grading, installation of gravel and concrete pads for the placement of the Fire Training Burn Building located at Fire Station No. 174, to be funded from Fire District Funds, Acct. No. 3281514-5602, for a total amount of $17,755.10. D3. Approval to adopt Annual Statement of Investment Policy. D4. Approval of Resolution to adopt a new Memorandum of Understanding (FD 04-006) between the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District and the Fire Support Services Association for Fiscal Years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. RESOLUTION NO. FD 04-030 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE EXISTING COMPENSATION PLAN FOR DISTRICT EMPLOYEES AND APPROVING THE CERTAIN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE DISTRICT AND SUPPORT SERVICES ASSOCIATION TO WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR FISCAL YEARS 2004-2005 AND 2005-2006 D5. Approval of Resolution to adopt a new Memorandum of Understanding (FD 04-007) between the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District and the Fire Management Employees Group for Fiscal Years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. RESOLUTION NO. FD 04-031 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE EXISTING COMPENSATION PLAN FOR DISTRICT EMPLOYEES AND APPROVING THE CERTAIN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE DISTRICT AND FIRE MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES BARGAINING GROUP FOR WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR FISCAL YEARS 2004/2005 AND 2005/2006 MOTION: Moved by Kurth, seconded by Williams to approve the staff recommendations in the staff reports contained within the Consent Calendar. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. [[ E. BOARD BUSINESS El. CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION DENYING THE GRIEVANCE REGARDING HOURS WORKED IN THE FIRE DISTRICT'S MINI-TRAINING ACADEMY Staff report presented by Jack Lam, City Manager. FD 04-032 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A GRIEVANCE FILED BY THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIREFIGHTERS' ASSOCIATION ON AUGUST 29, 2004. MOTION: Moved by Williams, seconded by Gutierrez to approve Resolution No. FD 04-032. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. II F. IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING I No items were identified for the next meeting. MOTION: Moved by Kurth, seconded by Gutierrez to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously 5-0.
