A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE
HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 3, 2026, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AND
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
SAN BERNARDINO TO CONSOLIDATE THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD PURSUANT TO ELECTIONS CODE SECTION 10403
RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general law cities in the State of California,
a General Municipal Election shall be held on November 3, 2026, for the election of municipal officers; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the General Municipal Election be consolidated with the Statewide
General Election to be held on the same date and that within the city, the precincts, polling places, and
election officers of the two elections be the same, and that the County Election Department of the County
of San Bernardino canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election and that the election be held on
all respects as if there were only one election; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA,
CAIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General
Law cities, there is called and ordered to be held in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, on Tuesday,
November 3, 2026, a General Municipal Election for the purpose of electing one (1) Mayor elected at large;
one (1) Member of the City Council from District 2; and one (1) Member of the City Council from District 3,
each for the full term of four years.
Section 2. The ballots to be used at the election shall be in the form and content as required by
the law.
Section 3. The City Clerk Services Director is authorized, instructed, and directed to procure and
furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter, and all supplies, equipment, and paraphernalia
that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct the election.
Section 4. The polls for the election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. on the day of the election
and shall remain open continuously from that time until eight o'clock p.m. of the same day when the polls
shall be closed, except as provided under Section 14401 of the elections code.
Section 6. In all particulars not recited in this Resolution, the election shall be held and conducted
as provided by law for holding municipal elections.
Section 6. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 10403 of the Elections Code, the Board
of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino is hereby requested to consent and agree to the
consolidation of a General Municipal Election with the Statewide General Election on Tuesday, November
3, 2026, for the purpose of electing one (1) Mayor at large; one (1) Member of the City Council from District
2; and one (1) Member of the City Council from District 3, each for a full term of four years.
Section 7. The County Registrar of Voters is authorized to canvass the returns of the Regular
Municipal Election. The election shall be held in all steps necessary for the holding of the consolidated
election.

Section 8. The Board of Supervisors is requested to issue instructions to the County Registrar of
Voters to take any and all steps necessary for the holding of the consolidated election.
Section 9. The City of Rancho Cucamonga shall reimburse the County of San Bernardino for
services performed when the work is completed and upon presentation to the City of a properly approved
bill.
Section 10. Notice of the time and place of holding the election is given and the City Clerk Services
Director is authorized, instructed, and directed to give further or additional notice of the election, in time,
form and manner as required by the law. Notwithstanding the generality of the foregoing, the City Clerk
Services Director is hereby instructed to act in conformance with California Elections Code Section 10403
and to file this Resolution with the Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino County and to transmit a copy
of the same to the San Bernardino County elections official.
Section 11. That in the event of a tie vote (if any two of more persons receive an equal and the
highest number of votes for an office) as certified by the Elections Official, the City Council, in accordance
with California Elections Code 15651 (a) shall set a date and time and place and summon the candidates
who have received the tie votes to appear and will determine the tie by lot.
Section 12. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the Book of
original Resolutions.
