April 20, 1942, the first two panels of the Honor Roll were dedicated The construction of
this structure was completed by using donated materials and volunteer efforts of the local

of Korean War veterans The Honor Roll became a Designated Landmark on March 4,
1981, by action of the City Council

B Landmark Alteration The Landmark Alteration consists of utilizing the entire 24-foot x
40-foot space to update the World War II Honor Roll This will allow for future expansion
The roof file will be recycled, the remainder of the wood structure is to be replaced
The structure will be moved south of its location and re-orientated 90 degrees to the street
so that it will face south In doing so, the replacement of the current wood structure will
take place Pressure treated wood, 8-inch x 8-inch, will be utilized for the main side
supports (see exhibit "A") The side supports will be secured by 5/8-inch bolts placed at
three locations 48 inches above grade level The bolts will be secured to 2-inch x 6-inch
pieces of steel, a total of 6 feet in length If viewing the monument from the rear, 48
inches will be visible with the remaining 24 inches being below grade level secured in a
filled 16-inch tube form
The memorial will rest on a 9-foot x 13-foot concrete base South of the concrete base will
be a 10-foot x 12-foot concrete walkway with two aluminum stadium benches on each side
(see exhibit "B")
East of the 10-foot x 12-foot walkway, a 25-foot aluminum flagpole, 3 inches in diameter,
with an external halyard will be placed (This size of flagpole will withstand 100 mile per
hour winds) A aver rock facade will be used to cover the concrete base that the flagpole
is positioned in The flagpole will be driven 24 inches below the grade line and secured in
an 18-inch concrete filled tube form (see exhibit "C")
Landscaping of the site will include red, white and yellow roses, red and purple verbena,
and Quaking Aspen/ Liquid Amber trees Roses will be placed along the west side of the
monument, as well as surrounding the flagpole The Quaking Aspen/Liqud Amber trees
will be placed loosely surrounding the monument on all sides Red and purple verbena
will be placed in the open areas surrounding the structure The existing hedge will remain
in place In addition to the new landscape, the current sprinkler system will be replaced
