CITY COUNCIL, REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY,
AND FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES
Adjourned Meeting
A. CALL TO ORDER
An adjourned meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council, Redevelopment Agency and Fire
Protection District was held on Thursday, June 11, 1998, in the Tri Communities Room of the Civic
Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was
called to order by Mayor, William J. Alexander.
Present were Councilmembers: Paul Biane, Ja:mes Curatalo, Diane Williams, and Mayor William
J. Alexander.
Also present were: Jack Lam, City Mlmager; Jerry B. Fulwood, Deputy City Manager; Linda D.
Daniels, Redevelopment Agency Director; Mitch Stagerman, Sr. RDA Analyst; Larry Temple,
Administrative Services Director; Tamara Layne, Finance Officer; James C. Frost, City Treasurer;
Robert Bowery, Information Systems Manager; Rose Colum, Budget Analyst; Alex Ahumada,
Admin Services Officer/Fire; Stacey iRobinson, Accountant; Ingrid Blair, GIS/Special Districts
Supervisor; Deborah Clark, Library Director; Paula Pachon, Management Analyst II; Rick Gomez,
Community Development iDirector; Brad Buller, City Planner; Bill iMakshanoff, Building Official;
Joe O'Neil, City Engineer; Shintu Bose, l)eputy City Engineer; Dave Moore, Recreation
Superintendent; Chief Dennis Michael, Fire Protection District; Michelle Bancroft, Management

B. [FEM OF DISCUSSION
B 1. DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED BUDGETS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998/99
Jack Lam, City Manager, presented the proposed budgets for fiscal year 1998/99. He also added
they had before them a copy of the summary budget as well. He stated he would be giving a power
point presentation for the first time as part of his presentation.

Councilmember Biane asked Joe O'Neil, City Engineer, when the west end of the City along
Foothill will be improved.
Joe O'Neil, City Engineer, stated this is a very extensive area to improve from Vineyard to Grove,
and felt it would cost about $1,000,000 to $1,500,000. He felt they needed to complete a conceptual
plan to bring back to the Council, ~md added this is a priority of the City.
Councilmember Curatalo f~lt the City was being managed very well. He commended Jack Lam,
City Manager, and his staff for keeping the City in the black.
Doug Lyon, resident of the City had several capital improvement and traffic flow related questions
that he inquired about.
Staff proceeded with answers to Mr. I ~.yon's questions.
Jim Frost, City Treasurer, stated the City had previously discussed about redoing the General Plan.
He felt this should still be looked at and felt it could be done through reserves
C. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
Doug Lyon, resident of the City had several capital improvement and traffic flow related questions
that he inquired about.
Staff proceeded with answers to Mr. Lyon's questions.
Jim Frost, City Treasurer, stated the City had previously discussed about redoing the General Plan.
He felt this should still be looked at and felt :it: could be done through reserves.

D. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Williams, seconded by Biane to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously 4-0.
The meeting adjourned at 6:27 p.m.
