FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES
Regular Meeting
A. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District was held on Wednesday, January 7,
1998, in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga,
California. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m by President William J. Alexander.
Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, James Curatalo, Rex Gutierrez, Diane Williams and President
William J. Alexander.
Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; James Markman, City Attorney; Jerry Fulwood, Deputy City
Manager; Linda Daniels, Redevelopment Agency Manager; Brad Buller, City Planner; Joe O'Neil, City
Engineer; Joe Stofa, Associate Engineerl Larry Temple, Administrative Services Director; Dave Moore,
Recreation Superintendent; Deborah Clark, Library Director; Duane Baker, Assistant to the City Manager;
Diane O'Neal, Assistant to the City Manager; Jen~nifer Haruyama, Management Analyst I; Chief Dennis
Michael, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District; and Debra J. Adams, Secretary.

No announcements/presentations were made.

No communications were made from the public

D1. Approval of Minutes: November 19, 1997 (Curatalo absent)
December t7 1997 (Gutierrez absent)
MOTION: Moved by Biane, seconded by Curatalo to approve item D1 with the exception of Curatalo
abstaining from voting on the November 19 minutes and Gutierrez abstaining from voting on the December
17 minutes. Motion carried unanimously, 5-0.

E. IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING
No items were identified for the next meeting.
F. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Gutierrez, seconded by Biane to recess to the conclusion of the Council meeting to
discuss Labor Negotiations per Government Code Section 54957.6 to give Larry Temple, Administrative
Services Director, direction in regards to the Meet and Confer process. Motion carried unanimously, 5-0. The
meeting recessed at 7:07 p.m. No action was taken in executive session.
