This grant program requires that the City match these funds on a 70$ - 30$ basis. In other words, the City's required match is $14,773.00. The southwest area of Rancho Cucamonga has been targeted as a priority area for land acquisition for a neighborhood park facility. Staff has researched the southwest area and located a ± 9 acre site that eppears very promising for acquisition through preliminary discussions with the property owner. Due to the urgency to acquire park land in this area, staff recommends that funding through the Robert-2'Herg-Harris Open Space Program be used to supplement the City's Park Development Funds for land acquisition.
