RECOMMENDATION tt is hereby recommended that Part I, Environmental Initial Study and Part II, Environmental Checklist he reviewed and approved by Lhe City Council and that a Notice of Exemption be approved for filing with the County Clerk for the pro,~ect under the guidelines of the Californta Environmental Quality Act. BIICKGROIIND/ANlILYSI S In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, projects to maintain, rehabilitate and/or reconstruct, existing parkways, have been predetermined not to have a significant effect on the environment, and are designated for "Categorical Exemption" from environmental review. Sa',d improveaent: generally entail replacement of the concrete channel along Haven Avenue and installation of landscaping and irrigation. 7ursuant to Grant Application funding considerations, the State has required submittal of the Environmental Documents for review by May 31, 1991. Since the City was notffied of this requirement on May 7, 1991, special attention is needed prior to expiration of the time limit to maintain our funding Consideration status.
