AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION
10.20.020 OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA CITY CODE
REGARDING THE PRIMA FAClE SPEED LIMIT ON CAMINO
PREDERA FROM RED HILL COUNTRY CLUB DRIVE TO 200
FEET NORTH OF PREDERA COURT
A. RECITALS.
(i) California Vehicle Code Section 22357 provides that this City Council
may, by ordinance, set prima facie speed limits upon any portion of any
street not a state highway.
(ii) The City Traffic Engineer has conducted an engineering and traffic
survey, of certain streets within the City of Rancho Cucamonga which
streets as specified in Part B of this Ordinance.
(iii) The determinations concerning prima facie speed limit set forth in Part
B below are based upon the engineering and traffic survey identified in
Section A (ii), above.
B. ORDINANCE.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 10.20.020 hereby is amended to the Rancho Cucamonga City Code to read,
in words and figures, as follows:
10.20.020 Decrease of State Law Maximum Speed. It is determined by City
Council resolution and upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that
the speed permitted by state law is greater than is reasonable or safe under the
conditions found to exist upon such streets, and it is declared the prima facie speed
limit shall be 30 mph on Camino Predera from Red Hill Country Club Drive to 200
feet north of Predera Court when signs are erected giving notice hereof.

(i) Both sixty-five (65) miles per hour and fifty-five (55) miles per hour are
speeds which are more than reasonable or safe; and
(ii) The miles per hour as stated are the prima facie speeds which are most
appropriate facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and are speed
limits which are reasonable and safe on said streets or portions thereof;
............... and
(iii) The miles per hour stated are hereby declared to be the prima facie
speed limits on said streets; and

(iv) The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to install
appropriate signs upon said streets giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit declared herein.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the
same to be published as required by law.
SECTION 3.
The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be
published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least once inThe Inland Daily
Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario,
California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
