A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, SUMMARILY
ORDERING THE VACATION OF SIERRA MADE AVENUE,
GENERALLY LOCATED 97 FEET TO 226 FEET SOUTH OF
THE CHAFFEE STREET ALLEY, (SOUTH OF 9T" STREET),

RESOLUTION NO. 08-027
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA,SUMMARILY ORDERING
THE VACATION OF SIERRA MADRE AVENUE, GENERALLY
LOCATED 97 FEET TO 226 FEET SOUTH OF THE
CHAFFEE STREET ALLEY, (SOUTH OF 9TH STREET), V-210,
APN: 0227-254-67.
WHEREAS, by Chapter 4, Article 1, Section 8334(a), of the Streets and Highway
Code, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga is authorized to summarily vacate a
portion of Sierra Madre Avenue from approximately 47 feet to 226 feet south of the Chaffee Street
Alley, and
WHEREAS, the City Council found all the evidence submitted that excess
right-of-way is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes, it has not been used
for more that five (5) consecutive years and no public money was expended for maintenance of
same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga as follows:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga hereby
makes its order vacating that portion of a portion of Sierra Madre
Avenue from approximately 47 feet to 226 feet south of the Chaffee
Street Alley (V-10), as described in Exhibit"A"and shown on Exhibit
SECTION 2: That from and after the date the resolution is recoded, said excess
street easement no longer constitutes a public easement.
SECTION 3: That from subject vacation shall be subject to the reservations and
exceptions, if any, for existing utilities and drainage rights on record.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk shall cause a certified copy of this resolution to be
recorded in the office of the County Recorder of San Bernardino
County, California.
SECTION 5: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution, and it shall thereupon take effect and be in force.
