II. NEW BUSINESS
A. MINOR DEVELOMENT REVIEW DRC2009-00833 - HAVEN VIEW ESTATES HOA - A
request to modify the existing horse trail to permit vehicle entrance sensor devices that
have been installed within the trail at Haven View Estates, located at Haven Avenue and
Ringstem Drive.
Staff Planner: Steve Fowler, Assistant Planner
Action: The Trails Advisory Committee recommended that the applicant work with staff
to modify the trails to gradually descend towards the drive aisle and adjust by way of a
paralleled offset from the camera that was installed in the middle of the existing trail. The
Committee also requested that the applicant look for other alternatives to solve their
visibility problem and bring the solution back to the Trails Advisory Committee at a later
date. Both HOA representatives, Ann Hahn and Bruce (last name unknown)agreed and
answered questions from the committee.
B. PROJECT TRAIL ABANDONMENT DRC2009-00848-(PARCELS) 1061-021-02; 1061-
021-03; 1061-031-04 -A request to abandon two portions of a trail that lead from the trail
onto Ranch Gate Road in the Very Low Residential District. The two portions of the trail
are between 5272 and 5278 Ranch Gate and one completely on 5340 Ranch Gate Road.

Action: The Trails Advisory Committee recommended to the Planning Commission
approval of this application subject to the following condition of approval:
1) Applicant is required to obtain the necessary permits and approvals from the
San Bernardino County Flood Control District to remove the gate at the north end of
the trail and replace it with a step through for pedestrian and equestrian access. The
applicant was not present to answer questions. It was understood if he applicant
wanted to return before proceeding to the Planning Commission that would be
acceptable.

III. PUBLIC COMMUNICATION
This is the time and place for the general public to address the Trails Advisory Committee.
Items to be discussed here are those which do not already appear on this agenda.
Greg Allen, 9795 Hillside Road, spoke about a possible abandonment of the trail behind and
around his home. It was noted the TAC could not address the issue until the matter is applied
for and placed on a future agenda.
