SUBJECT: ENGINEERING PLANS FOR PHASES 4A AND 4B OF THE PACIFIC ELECTRIC TRAIL
Dear Committee Members:
The City of Rancho Cucamonga is proposing to construct Phase 4a (Grove Avenue to Vineyard Avenue)
and Phase 41b (Vineyard Avenue to Amethyst Avenue) of the Pacific Electric Trail along with a trail head.
The proposed Phase 4a and 4b trail improvements consist of installation of a concrete pedestrian/bicycle
trail, landscaping within 100 feet of each street crossing, traffic signals at Grove Avenue, Hellman
Avenue, and Base Line Road, trail lighting and PVC fencing. Additionally, the proposed Phase 4b
improvements will include the installation of a decomposed granite trail.
The trail head will include vehicular and equestrian trailer parking, connections to the Pacific Electric Trail,
separate drinking fountains for humans and for horses, a picnic table, lighting, and basic landscaping. If
sufficient funds are available, a restroom will also be constructed at the trail head. The location of the trail
head needs to be discussed.
If you have any further questions, please contact the undersigned at(909)477-2740, ext. 4076.
Cordially,
