The Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation believes in literacy and serving all
segments of the population through equal access to knowledge, information, unique
programs and resources.
We believe that the library is an important community benefit and that it exists at
the heart of healthy communities.
Our legacy is found in that we create a sense of awareness about the library
throughout the community and we advocate to stakeholders, community leaders
and patrons, personally and through the web, social media and other media.
Our unique contribution is exhibited in support to the library financially and
emotionally and by exposing the community to a variety of programs and activities.
We give back through fundraising and giving matching funds for grants. We serve
as a vital means by which funds can be collected to support the library, volunteers,
staff innovation in programs and services and benefit sponsors and donors.
We are a daring, hardworking and FUN team capitalizing on our individual talents,
because we feel safe with each other, we are supportive and we are strong.
Our work will be accomplished when people want to talk about the library,
programs, etc. and donors want to be a part of the library.
We track our progress through pre-determined measurements such as:
• Attendance/participation
• Income--We have more money in the bank than needed.
• Good creative programming
• Recognition
• Staff satisfaction
• Needs of every segment of community met
• Donor and sponsor base is growing (a lot)
We need each other because we are advocates for the library and broaden our circle
of friends. We're not staff. We bring a diversity of skills and talent and can raise
money and awareness. The Foundation adds credibility on a local and national
level. In our sharing of responsibility with staff, we cheer! They give ideas and
highlight causes. Together we brainstorm, ultimately confirming each other and
our new ideas.
