RESOLUTION NO. 81-80

A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA ESTABLISHING THE LOCATION
OF SIDEWALKS WITHIN THE RURAL/EQUESTRIAN AREA AND
INDUSTRIAL AREA.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission is concerned with the location
of sidewalks in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has spent a great deal of
time and discussion over where sidewalks should be located and the
purposes for sidewalks; and
WHEREAS, it is the Planning Commission' s desire to establish
standards for the location of sidewalks in the rural/equestrian area and
the industrial area.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of
the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby establish the following standards
for the location of sidewalks:
SECTION 1: Rural/Equestrian Area: Sidewalks shall be required
on one side of the streets; Banyan, Hillside, Wilson, Haven, Hermosa ,
Archibald, Amethyst, Beryl , Carnelian, Sapphire, Turquoise, Etiwanda ,

East, Highland, 24th, Summit Avenues, and any other streets that may be
added that are of the same classification as the aforementioned. For
streets interior to the previously mentioned streets, sidewalks will be
required on one side of the street on routes to school as determined by
the City Planner and City Engineeer with the approval by the Planning
Commission.
SECTION 2: For Industrial : Sidewalks will be required in the
industrial area, on both sides of the streets; Haven, Turner, Archibald,
Hellman, Vineyard, Milliken, Rochester, New Rochester, Day Creek, Etiwanda,
Arrow, Foothill , 6th, 4th Streets, and any other streets that would be
added in the same classification as the aforementioned. Sidewalks will
be required on one side of collector streets in the industrial area;
and sidewalks on one side only, will be required at the discretion of
the City Planner and City Engineer on streets that lead to existing
transportation stops or proposed transportation stops.
SECTION 3: Sidewalks Elsewhere: Sidewalks shall be required
in all other areas of the City on both sides of the street per city
standards, except for areas where the Planning Commission and the
Etiwanda Specific Plan have established specific standards.

I , JACK LAM, Secretary of the Planning Commission of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced, passed, and adopted by the Planning Commission of
the City of Rancho Cucamonga, at a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission held on the 8th day of July, 1981 by the following vote to-
wit:

NOES: COMMISSIONERS: None
